  1. congrats to everyone that has been accepted. @ inasaja, on my acceptance letter it specifies that i have been admitted to the ap bsn program. is there anyone at a partner hospital in houston? i live in houston and will be doing my clinicals in the houston area. i was wanting to know if there was anyone else out there in my situation.
  2. Well today is Veteran's Day so the USPS is closed. No mail will be going out today.
  3. KatLd1021, I have applied to the Spring 2011 UTA BSN Academic Partnership Program. My partnership hospital is in Houston, TX. I am still waiting on a response. I am currently taking Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, and Intro to Nursing. I do believe these courses should be completed before starting the official nursing program. You may want to talk to your advisor to be sure. But FYI students admitted to the Spring 2010 session found out around November 10, 2009.
  4. Hey everyone. I spoke to an admissions counselor and found out that Fall 2010 applicants UTlink status should be updated as early as next week. They haven't sent the list to the registrar just yet because they are finishing up with the Accelerated students. Everyone one should start receiving letters and UTlinks status updates really, really soon. So keep checking you status and stalking the mail man.
  5. Thanks Aggiehorn. I am still praying I get in.
  6. I have not checked my UTlink in days. I haven't even been on this forum. I log on tonight and see that some of you have been accepted!! Congratulations to those of you who got in. As soon as UTlink comes up today I will be checking my status. I am so scared. I will let you guys know something soon.
  7. We may find out before April 1st. According to last year's thread their UTlink status was updated around March 18 or so before they received their packets. Caj134 were you the only one interviewing for the acclerated program or were there others with you?
  8. Bach09 you and I are in the same boat with what decisions we are going to make in the near future. Ladykee it's good you at least have a back up plan. All my eggs are in one basket. But I do know that we are automatically considered for the fall admissions and I even asked them to consider me for the new Pacesetters program.
  9. Does anyone know if UT is still interviewing? I had my interview in January and the wait is killing me. From the posts I see that they did interviews on Feb 12. Was that the last set of people to be considered? I am so nervous because I don't have a back up plan. Do any of you guys have back up plans? What other schools have you applied to?
  10. Ladykee that was also a question I had. But from researching the previous classes entered I believe we will have to go through the interview process all over again. But I hope not.
  11. Hey everyone. I think I had a pretty good interview. Ladykee it was really nice to meet you. Talking to you and Lonnie really made the process seem less stressful. And by the way, I was the next to the last one to be interviewed.
  12. Hello everyone. I am sooo nervous about my upcoming interview. My stats: Nursing Pre-reqs = 3.4 Science = 4.0 NET Math 100 Reading 85
  13. Hello everyone. I got my interview letter on Dec 26 as well! My interview is scheduled for Jan 19. I am sooooooo excited.
  14. Hey Bach09. I think UT will start sending e-mails and interview letters at the end of January or the begining of February.
  15. Good luck to you to bach09 and everyone else!
  16. LPSJones, your scores are still competitive. You have a great GPA and above a 70 on the reading and that is what they are looking for.
  17. I took the NET exam on the computer through Pearson Vue. I got a print out of the results right after I finished the exam. If you are taking the paper version it will take about a week. Good luck to you and thanks for posting you GPA's. You have good leverage because of your medical background. I also have medical experience. I transport patients throughout the hospital.
  18. Hello everyone. I had to post this today. The first time I took the NET exam my scores were terrible. I took it again today and made a 100 in math and an 85 in reading. I am estatic. My only concern is that my GPA is low. My nursing pre-req gpa is 3.4 and my science gpa is a 4.0. Could others post their NET scores and gpa's so that we can all get an idea of what the application pool looks like? Thanks.
  19. LPSJones...I will be at one of the centers on the North side of Houston. Good luck!
  20. LPSJones I am retaking the NET exam on November 21. I see that you are taking yours the same day. What testing center will you take the exam?
  21. I called the school the other day and was informed that if you did not make at least a 70 on the reading portion of the NET exam they will not even interview you. I am sure you also have to do well on the math but it is the reading portion of the NET exam that is kicking everyone's but.
  22. Hello LPSJones, I am happy you replied. I am glad to hear from someone else out there that is applying to UT Houston. Yes, I have completed my application. According to the other threads I think they will start sending out interview letters as early as January but definitely by February. I took the NET exam Oct 24 but I am retaking it because I am not happy with my scores.
  23. All information for the accelerated program is due December 1, 2009. Since you are taking courses outside of the US, your coursework must be evaluated by a credentialing service to see which courses satistfy the prerequisites. The process seems pretty simple. After the application process, you may be selected for an interview. From what I have read the interview consists of a writing sample and an interview. This could take place as early as January. From the interview pool UT will select its candidates around March or April.
  24. Hello Bach 09. I thank you so much for posting. I have been looking for other students applying to UT-Houston's 2010 accelerated program. I am also applying. My GPA is 3.4 overall and a 4.0 in science. I have not recieved my score for my NET exam yet. I am taking math statistics right now and will not be finished until the end of December as well. I am assuming you have already taken A&P I. Have you already taken Microbiology? I am asking because to be considered UT requires you to complete at least 40 of the required 60 hours of prerequisite work. 8 of those hours must be from the science prerequisite: A&P, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Here is a link you can go to: http://son.uth.tmc.edu/prospstudent/applresources/documents/applicant-check-off-list.pdf If you have at leat 8 hours of science right now I wouldn't worry too much. I also think you have a good chance if you close out the semester with A's. I read on a post that one accelerated student was admitted with a 3.0 and no hospital experience. I believe if you work hard and show UT you want this, they will see it. Lets keep in touch and get one another through this process. Hopefully others will come aboard.
