  1. I work in LTC in Ohio I dont know the ratio, the floor I work on has 1 nurse to about 32 residents, I am a cna, when I first started at this facility I had all the residents to care for, whew, now there is 2 aides only due to the fact that state fined them.
  2. Me I would not want the liability, although the experience would be good but I think I would pass on it.
  3. Hello I am a CNA in Ohio, my name is Carla hopefully someday I will make it on to college. Nice to meet you. :rotfl:
  4. Hello I am a CNA have been one for about a year and a half, at the long term care facility I work at there are male CNA's, and they do the same job as me, if a resident wants a female the usually state that they do not want a male to care for them sometimes it is their family that only wants female caregivers...Carla
  5. I was taught that if we see abuse and do nothing we are just as guilty
  6. Oh hey forgot to introduce myself..Carla here.
  7. Hello... :rotfl:
  8. :balloons: Well as far as the smells and things you are going to see I think you are just not going to get away from it, you just kinda get used to it. I am fortunate( I really don't like to say that) I have problems with my sinuses so I can't smell half of the time, but I am lucky to have a friend who will switch with me on things I dont like, because of the smell, I can handle some of her residents she dont like to deal with. I heard that a little vicks under your nose helps.
  9. I'm in Ohio also it took 2 weeks 8-4pm, M-F, I think it was a total of 70 hours with 2 days of clinicals, piece of cake.
  10. I work LTC, I get tired of all the complaining from LPN'S, CNA'S and RN'S, so I walk away. I stay away from it all and just take care of residents, what I am supposed to be doing anyway. What I feel is that if you have time to stand around and complain you don't have enough to do.
  11. Here in Ohio you can drop the baby off at a hospital or police station( I think) and walk away with no questions and no legal problems I think that this is a good thing.

Hi and thank you both for being so nice to me, and I always like coffee anytime of the day or night. As for the image that you posted for me thank you, I try to pull it up and nothing came up I will have to have my husband take a look and see what I am doing wrong he is far more computer literate then myself, infact my children are to. I really like this site! I find myself coming here pretty often.
  13. I went on Paxil from Prozac I did not like Paxil it made me stop eating and sleep alot but it did nothing for my depression, when I came off of it on my own I ended up staying up for two days everytime I was able to go to sleep I had horrible, horrible nightmares , now try to go thru that and still make it in to work.:imbar
