The longest case for me......a avm in the brain. Scrubbed in at 6:45 ,got lunch at 11:00,scrubbed back in @ 1135,I was on call so... got scrubbed out at 2130.....came back in the next morning scrubbed back in (same case) at 645....case finished at 1330. The pt did well. I had to take a 3 day weekend.

All of the above + nurse managers !!!!

The ICU at Conroe Regional is about 30 beds. One side is ccu and the other is icu. I work in the or , but everyone seems happy and helpful when we come to pick up pt or drop them off. It serves as the main Hospital for the hospital district. You see alot of sick pt so I would think it would be a good learning experience.

I am currently employed at Conroe Regional. It is an HCA hospital. We have yet to gain any status as a trauma center however , it is in the near future. I have also worked at Hermann and Ben Taub. If you are a city person, looking for excitment ,I say work at Hermann or Ben Taub. If you like the country or " the burbs", work in Conroe or The Woodlands. If you have to comute to The Med Center you are looking at heavy traffic and then you have to park off campus and take the bus to the hospital. In the past few months Conroe has paid generous relocation packages to some of my co-workers. You might also consider Memorial Hermann in the Woodlands. It is a clean, well planed communtity, very family oriented, with lots to do. Hope this helps.
