  1. I am a LPN and have been replaced by med techs by two facilities. I guess its cheaper for the company. I have no idea what the deal is, Im in RN school now NO jobs are open in Mi hospitals anymore. I think its rotten that TSPN is lying telling students they will be gainfully employed in a hosp setting. Its just not true.
  2. Yes LPN's are being replaced.....by Med Techs. They make just under what an LPN makes and cheaper to hire. In Michigan Mercy hosp fired ALL LPNS, they are obsolete. I was told LPN'S are not considered Professionals in the field. I am reminded each day how replaceable I am. I am so sad........
  3. yes IM sad at the ten grand I owe to loans and struggle to find a decent job......yea another nursing home no thanks the risk is too great, I do visiting nursing which is good but again limited. In school we trained for areas well NEVER get into. I graduated with a academic award in excellance highest scores in maternity nursing, what a joke............all that studying for nothing, :crying2:Im reminded all the time Im just an LPN the bottom.
  4. HI, Just a comment to the nurse making $20/ visit in Michigan. Im a LPN I make $ 50 dollars a visit they are not paying you right at all! Medicaid pays an agency 145.00 for a visit.
  5. HI, just to comment, Im an LPN and that is very typical here in Michigan. I had one RN but she was NO help, only "supervisor" for three floors. She would come in at 10pm and yell at me why things are left to her nurses to do, I worked afternoon shift. This went on for three years and I almost quit nursing thinking I was not good enough to even be a nurse. Im now in RN school online hoping for a better nursing experience. EVERY tlc I had ever worked at was like that, I always felt so bad leaving my shift............man never again
  6. Hi.....i just started excelsior, its ok, it works for me a self studier.. I would like to connect with other lpn's or rn's who went through this program. I live in mi, near toledo, anyone want to start a group? I have been an lpn for 5 years in home health and community nursing. Here in michigan i cant get a job in a hospital only rns can. I am worried about the clinical part, i do love nursing and want this so bad. Thanks
  7. hI, I graduated from TSPN in 05. It was a good school, I met some great people their. I am now doing my RN at Excelsior.....I only needed 13 classes at the time to get my RN, good luck....
