  1. Actually, I think Ca BVNPT moves pretty quickly! I got my results within 2 weeks of taking the exam..and I think my name will be on BVNPT website within 4 weeks of mailing my check. Considering what's been going on with layoffs etc. etc. I think they're pretty quick!
  2. Well, here's an update..PVT trick absolutely works! I passed!! got my letter today in the mail! Now, I get to do what I love, be a good, compassionate, caring nurse.
  3. I tried to PVT and got the good pop up. I'm in Ca, and I was wondering, how to I go about paying for the license so that it will show up on the bvnpt website? Do I have to wait till I receive my letter? Thanks!
  4. Wow! Sully75, thank you for the great point you made about the questions on NCLEX! I had some weird questions that made me think ***** seriously bizaar questions that I couldn't even answer correctly because I had no clue what it was really asking from me! I had about 5 or 6 of those..Funny thing is, I went all the way to 205 questions, (NCLEX PN). I came home and did the PVT, well I think I passed because I got the "good pop up"...So, now I get it..the more crazy, and bizaar question, the better for me! Thanks for the links, I will certainly try them out..
  5. Simandrea: I took the exam back in April, but I failed. And since then, I haven't bothered scheduling my second exam till I knew for sure I was ready. The first time around, I studied out of 2 books at starbucks..This time around, which was 2 months before my 2nd exam date, I studied at home using Kaplan book/CD. I mainly studied using the CD. I did 10 questions at a time, and whatever I didn't understand, I found the answers online. And just kept going..Don't give up, when I took the exam the second time, it went all the way to 205.. I was soo upset and frustrated, thinking I had failed again..But, I came home and tried the PVT and I think I may have passed. I was at the verge of giving up, and I'm glad I didn't.
  6. Hi! I took the NCLEX PN exam last Thursday, and the funny thing is, I wanted to re-schedule my test date due to anxiety, and being just super nervous, because I had failed my first attempt back in April, but I couldn't because it was less than 24hours. Anyhow, I tried the "Trick" and I got the pop up, which I didn't get the last time I checked..So, I'm crossing my fingers in anticipation of my letter stating that I passed! When I took the test, it didn't stop at 85, or 95, or 105! I went all the way to 205!! After 100, I thought, oh crap I've failed...I've seriously failed...I just wanted the exam to be over with, I was tired, stressed, and lost my mojo to continue..But, based on the "trick" response from many of you, I think I passed.. So, what didn't work for me the first time around, coffee shops..I shouldn't have studied at coffee shops, even though I thought/felt that I was studying, my mind wasn't 100% focused. So, the second time around, I stayed at home, locked myself in the room and studied Saunders book/CD. I used the CD mostly. I did about 200 + - questions per day. But memorized lab values, common medication ranges, PH levels, and when answering the questions on the CD, I looked up words I didn't know, and wrote it on my note cards. I answered the question, read the rationales, and understood why the other answers were not correct. Sometimes it would take me almost 2-5 minutes per question, because I was searching on the internet for a better explanation if I didn't understand the rational. I would go through the questions and study 10 at a time, and marked how many I got right on a piece of paper. I just kept doing 10 at a time, which made hitting 400 questions in a day a piece of cake! But I studied from morning till evening with 15 minute breaks in between, and absolutely zero tv time! NO TV!! major distraction, and can ruin your studying ability! too many interesting tv shows! I studied the night before, but stopped around 8pm. And watched my missed shows! Woke up the next morning, took the bart, and tried to study, but nope didn't work! So, for those who are seeking advice, this is what I did. I hope that my advice will help some of you, if not all..and if I can help 1 person succeed on the boards, then I've done my part. But, I won't get too excited! because I still want that letter in my hands as proof of passing..
  7. So, here I am thinking I didn't pass... because I didn't receive the "good pop up", I had to re-register..and so I did. Now, I haven't received my ATT letter yet via email..when I registered the first time, I received the ATT within 24 hours..but this time, its been 1 week. What should I be thinking at this moment? I'm so confused..
  8. 2beenursey10: thank you!! yea, I hope I passed, if not, no worries, I can just take it again! This is just an obstacle that's in my way to where I want to be, and that's all that I see! just stay positive, and be happy..you have to be happy, because stressing out will only define those wrinkles that people get when they are stressed out, and or unhappy! lol! I should know I had a few!! lol!!
  9. Hi! I got ur message but I can't reply back as I don't have min. 15 posts..but anyhow, I'm in Cali, bay area actually. And I tried to register, and I went all the way to CC. So......I don't know! Its ok though, I'm trying not to think about it lol!! I hope I pass because I just hate taking tests! but if I didn't pass, then I can just take it again!
  10. I just took the nclex pn exam this morning, I totally felt confident, I was happy, and just stress free, until I answered some questions that I went blank on! so, I got a little stressed out, and fidgety. In the end, it stopped at 163, and when I left I was still really happy to be done with the exam!! I'm going to try the pvt trick tomorrow, I tried this evening, and it let me go all the way to CC payment. So, who knows! the one thing that could bring me down is that my classmates who took the exam, all passed! so, we will see! For those who have taken the pn exam and passed, congrats!! and those who have not passed, don't lose hope...here is a quote"Failure is just an obstacle when reaching your goal"
  11. Jeez! i know exactly what you're going through! I deal with it daily...you would think that in nursing school, kids would grow up and behave like adults! not the case, there are ghetto fab girls who swear up and down that they don't take bs from no one..yes, no one, not "anyone", but "no one"..and then there's the preppy "popular" girls, that are still stuck in hs..omg! and then there's the bipolars who are extra smart intellectually, but are really weird, and have some really strange ideas about life etc, depends on their mood for the day. and then there's the "outspoken" drama king who is just plain annoying! so that's just the students..let me tell you about the instructors! there is one particular instructor who is in her 40's but acts like she's in her 20's and involves herself with other peoples, specifically preppy/ghetto fab girls drama..during our clinical rotation, my instructor spent most of her time consoling a student who was dumped by her bf. the dumpee cried the whole day...her friends all consoled her and tried to make sense out of her little world. The uncool girls worked. and when we noticed that the cool girls were just sitting outside doing nothing, we stopped working and went outside to do nothing as well. well, we listened to the drama..pretty interesting I must say! There is another instructor, major drama queen! she picks faves, 2 specifically. I was passed up within 2 seconds of offering to perform a procedure just because the preppy girl wanted to do it, and the instructor wanted her to do it as well. so what happened was, the preppy girl just finished one task with the instructor, and I was there to watch, so the 2 preppy girls, myself and the instructor walked to nurses station, and instructor asked "who wants to do this next procedure" no one answered, so I said "I will" thinking that my instructor would be happy that I wanted to participate and learn. So, as I went over to the MAR, my instructor says to the preppy girl "Oh, I thought you wanted to do this tx" the preppy girl says "I do, buhhhhhhhht......." and just like that the instructor says, "well get over here and do it" I was dumbfounded, because for a second I thought she had this client, until I realized later, she didn't. And I just got passed up. I was soooo mad that afternoon, I walked out. But I came back right before the end of the shift. Keep in mind, we had nothing to do all day! This is just one of the issues, dramas, or whatever you call it that goes on in my nursing school...So I totally understand!!!
