  1. Anyone hear from sharp Mesa vista? Also, JessicaLn which home health do you work for?
  2. Hey guys! my application has gone missing too. Phew! i thought it was just me. ANYWAY, since we choose 2 places to work at, does anyone know how which one is chosen for you?
  3. I have at least 3 months RN experience at a subacute/SNF and its still hard for me. It could be my résumé?
  4. Oh wow didn't realize they're already sending out rejection emails. ??
  5. Haven't received any calls and I applied to memorial and CV.
  6. Coriander, What type of behavioral question? Can you give an example?
  7. What the heck?! Hopefully they are working backwards!! Lol. I finished my app at 1030. I have 3 months RN experience at a subacute facility.
  8. Thanks! I'm guessing they're calling people for the l&d units since it starts soon. I hope they start calling for the other ones soon.
  9. Aww yay! What unit/hosp did you apply for?
  10. So they scheduled you for an interview?
  11. Does anyone remember the short answer questions for the scripps new grad app?
  12. I sooo hope they call soon!! I hate where work and def want a hospital job!
  13. Which places/units start in nov?
  14. Coriander-- when sharp first contacts an applicant..is it by email or phone? just want to be sure to know what I'm looking out for (hoping that I will get a response ).
  15. NurseMandoCommando you can always get RN experience by working in SNFs or LTCs. I work in a subacute/SNF right now. It may not be the ideal experience any new grad is looking for but it's something and probably the only places that will hire new grads.
  16. Hi Coriander, Do they tell you why you weren't picked? Also, would you happen to know what helps get an interview? do you have related experience or things like ACLS, PALS? just curious to see what my chances are to at least get an interview.
  17. Should I still include my clinical rotations in my resume? Also, if I do add clinical experience should I list skills performed under each clinical rotation? Please help!
  18. I too know exactly how you feel.... I am also a new grad RN working in a snf. Last night was my first night passing meds to 30 patients all by myself. My training with med pass involved only one day where I took over one of the carts to pass to 10 patients. Even on that day I took the whole shift so you can imagine me doing it all by myself with 30 patients let alone not being real familiar with the med cart itself and not knowing where anything is, taking blood sugars on half of the patients, taking BPs with a manual cuff, hanging tube feedings, dealing with patients who you have no idea what they are saying due to language barrier or unable to get real words out, CNAs telling you rooms blah blah blah are in pain, and the list goes on! I made a lot of med mistakes as well by not signing for scheduled meds because it was honestly too late to pass em and so many of my patients missed their 5pm meds. It was so bad that 3 nurses had to help me which I am very grateful of because one helped out with the goodness of her heart because she saw me struggling (and she was already working for the subacute side) But the other one ended up being my mentor who definitely was not happy to see that I hadn't even passed half of my 5 pms meds when it was already 9p. Exactly like you, I've been up for 15 hours and 3 hours of sleep. Literally after stepping out of the building last night, I balled my eyes out. This morning I woke up with panic because there were a lot of things I realized I didn't do last night and hoping nothing bad happened to any of my patients over the night. I'm dreading to go into work today because I'm so ashamed of how it went and scared to see what my preceptor has to say. There are some nurses who say don't worry, it'll take time. I do believe that, but I honestly feel like I have to fall flat on my face a billion times in order to get better or even comfortable passing meds or being charge nurse which scares me to death because falling on my face means making mistakes which I don't want to! At the same time, I'm trying so hard to do everything right that I end up making mistakes anyway. I've never felt so defeated. I don't know what to do. My husbands uncle got me the job so I feel even more pressure to do good and not to quit even though I badly want to. I hope anyone out there has some encouraging words or support that will get me through this horrible experience.
  19. omg april cohort!! orientation is in 3 days! Who's ready?! I finally got everything done in the nick of time.

  21. does anyone know where to get cheap health insurance that covers the requirements (emergency visits and hiv preventative)??
  22. Omg I haven't received my packet yet. But good thing for this forum.. I didn't know the irientaion fee was that much! Eeeek!
  23. Hey guys! Ugh I've been trying to get all the required docs done! I have my risk insurance, cpr and some of my immunizations. My acceptance is really last minute. ANyway, in the email it said that at the orientation there will be preliminary testing. Does anyone know what the testing entails? Also, for ones who are already in the program, what should we expect for the first month? Or what should we already know before entering the program? I know I totally need to review anatomy so I'll be doing that in the mean time before the program. So much to do, so little time!!
  24. Oh I'm barely starting to banana. In renewing my CPR this week but that's about it so far.
