  1. I can't believe it, but the day has finally come! I start school tomorrow, Sept. 26:D Can anyone give me a heads up as to what I can expect to do on my first day? Any words of wisdom or advice for a newbie? Thanks!
  2. I'm right there with ya! I start in 13 days:eek: I've been waiting since January to start my program. I spent the entire day organizing and cleaning my house. LOL I know I won't have much time once school starts.
  3. Open your local newspaper and check for LPN jobs. In my neck of the woods, LPN jobs are all over the paper (even in this economy). I asked my Aunt (who is an LPN) this same question and her response was "Honey, they've been saying I'm going to be phased out for 30 years now!" If you already planned on furthering your education and you see LPN jobs available in your area, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't go for it:)
  4. I start on September 26th and I can't wait! I'll be taking my program at a local vocational school.
  5. Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was talking about CCBC in Monaca. I was thinking about applying to their ADN program, but they wouldn't be accepting another class until fall of 2011. I have all of the prerequiste/corequisite courses done with the exception of Microbiology. However, they will be accepting for their LPN program starting in January 2011. I really need to get in and start working ASAP. I've never taken the HESI. How difficult was it? I've taken the NET and scored in the 96 percentile. With CCBC's LPN program, I would have to take the NLN sometime this summer. Do you know if there were alot of applicants? I'm assuming there were. I was told all of their clinicals were at the Beaver Valley Medical Center. Is that what they told you? CCBC is about a 25 minute drive down the turnpike for me, so I don't want to have to go to clinicals that are too far out. Thanks for your response. I would appreciate any help you could give me.
  6. I would like to talk to a CCBC nursing student (Community College of Beaver County). I'm considering attending there, but I would like to see if other students enjoyed the program. At this time, I think I'm going to apply to their LPN program, but I'm not completely set on that. I would like to talk to either the RN students or LPN students. Thanks in advance!
  7. I don't live in Ohio, so please don't shoot me for not knowing where Wayne Co. is. However, I do know there is an evening/weekend LPN program starting in May 2010 at ETI Technical College in Niles, Ohio. I believe that is Trumbull Co. I live in Western PA, and they just sent me a note in the mail yesterday saying their May 2010 class is still open and to call to take the EVOLVE test if I was interested. I hope this helps.
  8. I'm considering the LPN program at ETI Technical College in Niles. Does anyone here go there by any chance? I'm really interested in the full-time program. If there is anyone out there that goes there, please let me know what you think of their program. I'd also like to know what the schedule is like (ie. how many days a week the program is) etc. Thanks so much! --Marci
