I am also in NS and I have a 4 year old daughter. I decided to wait until she was a little older and I totally regret it. I was going to go when she was 2 but i waited and took some pre reqs but I wish I would have just went on then. She doesn't understand why mommy has to sit at the table for hours every night and why I have to be gone when she wakes up every morning. I have an amazing husband, but that doesn't make her whys any easier. And this year for christmas, its not going to be as extravagant because I'm not working and our budget is a lot tighter because of school. I try to spend every minute I can with her, but it breaks my heart when shes crying to me because all she wants is for me to play a game with her and I have 3 tests the next day, It sucks. I can totally see why you think you might have problems. I wonder everyday how we are going to make it when I go to ns. i am not working full time right now but we do not have the expenses right now that we will have then either. I am not having to pay a sitter for my daughter now, i am not driving back and forth everyday right now. Luckily for me my husband works his butt off everyday but i just wonder if that will be enough when i start school. I work part time at a local hospital. It is a very small hospital but i have my foot in the door. I work as a ward clerk and i have really gotten alot of experience from that. The nurses i work with are amazing and they are always showing my different stuff to help get me prepared. I definetely reccomend you trying to get on at a hospital somewhere, not only will it be some extra $$ but will get you alot of experience that will help alot! There are some hospitals that will hire someone as a nurses aide and train and certify you while you are working there. They might even help you pay for nursing school if you are working there and possibly sign a contract! Good Luck! :)
