  1. Sorry, I am just now seeing this! I'm actually staying with family. Hope you were able to figure something out!
  2. Thats great that they are accommodating your needs. I went to Brandman for my BSN and I really had a good experience. I'm from Central California and will be in the BSN to DNP acute care program. Our first immersion starts Jan 19th. Maybe I'll see you there!
  3. Anyone starting this program in Irvine this January?
  4. Started this week with a 4 day "immersion" session in Irvine, CA. So far so good. The teachers seem very involved and concerned with the students learning. The campus and facilities are really nice. The program is CCNE and WASC accredited. RN-BSN is I think 36 units, and the cost is about 18K. The cohort is a year long. At this point, I would definitely recommend it.
  5. If the patient doesn't have a pulse, I would go with compressions first.
  6. I have applied for this fall... Just waiting to get my NCLEX test date to be officially accepted. I haven't hear anything about the program though.
  7. Hi, I was wondering if you ended up going with Brandman? I want to start there next fall for RN-BSN
  8. Yes, you will have free time as a nurse. However, you will more than likely have to cut way down on Extra activities if you get into nursing school. Being a nurse is physically demanding as you are on your feet the majority of your shift. But, if you take good care of yourself it will lessen your chance of injury.
  9. Does anyone know what the math requirement is for the adn-bsn? I emailed an advisor today but they havent got back to me. REALLY don't wanna take stats... but I will if I have to.:thankya:
  10. I went to Concorde Arlington for LVN in 2009. I've never heard of a surgical tech -rn program. I'm starting an lvn-rn program at the end of this month. I moved to California after graduation and transferred my license over from TX. I haven't heard of any of my classmates having trouble finding work in tx though. CareNow was like begging any of us to work for them before we even passed nclex.
  11. Congrats! Where were you accepted?
  12. BVNPT - Vocational Nurse IV Therapy Certification Course Provider List
  13. Lotion, clipboard/notepad, LPN notes hand book(I loved it my first year of nursing), sharpie, water bottle!
  14. You weren't wrong for saying anything. But, yes not everyone who has a g-tube is NPO. The g-tube can supplement their diet while they are adjusting to eating again.
  15. Love it! Thanks! ?
  16. No way. I took micro, physio, and genetics at once and worked 40 hours a week.
  17. Yeah they did say livescan. I don't see why would need to though we were already fingerprinted for our LVN licenses.
  18. I got an iPad for nursing school, start this summer. Thinking one of those little keyboards would be nice though.
  19. I'm not sure, maybe we will just be in a skills lab? I could really use brushing up on some skills that I haven't used since lvn school like venipuncture and ng tubes ands stuff :/
  20. The guy that called me said if your TEAS is better than 67 then you're in. :)
  21. Yay! I'm taking the TEAS on Friday. Not very worried, I took it a year ago and got an 80 without studying. I'm so excited to meet both of you! I was looking at summer classes on the class finder, but I'm not sure which will be the ones we will be taking. I think we just have 5.5 units in the summer ?
  22. Yay! I'm in for lvn-rn so I'm sure I'll be seein ya :)
  23. Yaaaaay! Awesome! Do you have Facebook?
  24. I just got the call!!!' I'm in!!!!
  25. Beautiful.
