6 pre-reqs for Augusta Tech ADN?
Hi! Does anyone know the 6 pre-req classes that they use to calculate the GPA for the ADN program at Augusta Tech? Is Soc 1101 one of them? I have taken every class but wasnt able to get into the Soc 1101 class for spring semester.. Thanks!

ADN or BSN? What would you do if you were me?
My long term goal is to have a BSN at the university. My GPA just makes me a nervous wreck!

ADN or BSN? What would you do if you were me?
Thanks for the advice! I have tried talking to both advisors from both schools and they both said that I should try..which was not helpful! I may try asking them about where I fall...maybe they can give more clairity then:) I am also wondering if I should do a LPN program. From what I can tell, I would have a higher GPA score in the pre-reqs of a LPN program. Maybe I should do a LPN program first and then bridge over? I'm confused! I wish that I wouldn't have messed up so badly when I first started school!

ADN or BSN? What would you do if you were me?
I went back to school this past spring semester after taking a 4 year hiatus . I am currently attending a community college that is an hour away in pursuit of an associates degree in nursing. The program accepts 40 people every two years, has a minimum requirement of 2.5 GPA, and heavily weighs the HESI (I take this on June 18). I only have two more classes until I am done with the pre-nursing requirements and if I am accepted I will start this fall. Another option is a BSN from the local university (Georgia Southern) that is only five minutes away from my house. I believe that they accept twice a year. I have ten more classes until I am done with pre-reqs for this program. The average GPA of getting into this BSN program is 3.7. They also have to take the NET. I have been told that out of 3-400 applicants only 70 get in. My problem is my GPA. It is really low from when I first went to college 4 years ago and screwed up. It is currently only a 2.9 overall, 3.8 for the semester, and 3.3 for the ADN program. So, what would you do if you were me? Would you go ahead and get the ADN? Or would you go to school for two more semesters to get the core done for the BSN and bring up your GPA? I can't decide! Thanks in advance everyone! P.S. It might also be noted that I am 24 and am a mother of two (a 2 year old and a 1 year old).

Accepted to NS? What was your GPA?
Hi! I'm curious to know what the "average" GPA is to be accepted to nursing school. I know that it differs from school to school. Thanks! :)

I feel so hopeless ! :(
Girl, a 3.8 GPA? Be fearless! I think that every one of us at one point or another has gotten a little freaked out and discouraged by the gamble that we call "Nursing School". But have you seen your local hospital, clinic, doctors office? Do you see the women and men walking around in scrubs with RN and LPN on their name tag? They did it. They made it. And so can you:) Good luck and have faith! Keep me posted.

Microbiology: Spring 2010
Hi! I hope everyone's semester of micro is going good! I am studying for an exam and I have a question..hope someone can help! Hydrogen bonding....can anybody explain this to me? I know that it is the attraction between a partially postive atom and a partially negative atom. But when does/how does the atom become "partial"? Sorry, I know this is probably an elementary question. But my Micro book isn't explaining this to well :/ Thanks in advance!

Questions about Macon
geez..didn't mean to ruffle any feathers... Statesboro is definatley rural.. and isn't for everyone..it took me awhile to get adjusted to living here after living in Augusta. I was just putting my two cents in since you asked for suggestions:) I agree with FaithWorks that you are doing the right thing..don't let anyone shape your decision. You need to visit and do your research and decide what is right for you and your boyfriend. Good luck! :)

Questions about Macon
I know alot of people that grew up in Warner Robins and they liked it there. I've heard terrible things about Macon (pretty much what the previous posters stated) but I have never been there. I currently live in Statesboro but I grew up in Augusta. I love Augusta! Great school systems, safe and plenty to do! I've grown to love Statesboro, too (I think Statesboro is 2 1/2 to 3 hours south of Macon). Statesboro is pretty rural, but not very far from Savannah.

uh oh..2.8 GPA for Darton College?
thanks so much for your response! i am actually retaking a couple of classes this semester that I made C's in at Augusta state. I'm thinking that I should make A's in those...they are super easy classes. Hopefully that will bring me up to a 3.0. I have a meeting with Mrs. Sipper tomorrow to discuss the HESI and my chances of getting in (but after talking to other people my chances are looking pretty fair- I only have one class to take after this semester-A&P II). I'll look for your post as well:) Did you have Dr. Breana Simmons for Micro? I'm taking her this semester. Any advice for her class? Thanks!

uh oh..2.8 GPA for Darton College?
Has anyone had any experience at Darton College in Albany? I am hoping to apply for Fall 2010 nursing program. Problem is, I only have a 2.8 GPA..eeek! And I saw on their website that you have to have 3-5 core classes (with one being a mandatory A&P I) completed before you apply. I have all of my prereq's completed except for A&P I and II and Micro I and II. I will be taking A&P I and Micro I Spring semester along with a couple of retake classes to boost my GPA. If you've been to Darton, what do you think my chances are at getting in? I hear they take 100 students every semester but it is the HESI that weeds applicants out. What do you think?
