I was told by UC that the program is considered 3/4 time and it is not a good idea to continue working full time especially when clinicals start. However, I am sure it can be done. Preceptors are your responsibility. I do not like that their program requires so many credit hrs... but they are a great school! I would like to hear more from past/present students. Maybe, real life info might be better able to guide us! Good luck to all.

Would you still recommend the FNP route in south FL? I have heard bad things about the salary but do you know what it really is in this area? I am having 2nd thoughts about doing it. I work in women's health now and was hoping to specialize after FNP or just do the WHNP. I just do not know anymore...

I have been thinking WHNP as well but are concerned about the job market. I've been told to do FNP and then specialize which would make me more marketable. Would like to hear more about this topic as well.

Hi, I went to Nova and it was a great experience! I would not worry about the tuition right now. You will be paying for top quality education. I am now paying my student loans and you can work on weekends as well. Find out if you can get Perkin loans ... they can be forgiven after graduation. PM me if you need additional info about NOVA. Hello everyone, I love reading threads on this site! I am currently going crazy trying to figure out what MSN degree is right for me and would greatly appreciate your insights. I have been a nurse, BSN for 2 years working in a busy OB unit. We have Mother/Baby, NB nursery admissions & Antepartum. I also work in NICU Progressive when needed. I know that it's time for me to get a higher education. I love what I do but something is missing. With high patient loads, tasks & excessive charting, I don't have enough time to teach my patients which is the favorite part of my routine. I enjoy working with students, helping floats & other staffs with charting & tasks. I am always looking up protocols & ensuring I practice by guidelines. Therefore, I am thinking that MSN in Ed might be right for me. My concerns are: with just 2 yrs of exp, am I ready for grad school? Would I have enough exp. to teach OB? What are my chances of getting a FT job considering my level of experience. I considered the Women's Health NP Program but am not sure if this is right for me. I see myself being a teacher where I can be off on nights, week-ends & holidays so that I can be with my family. Thank you in advance for your time!
