TEAS test for CCBC
I agree with the other comment about getting the TEAS study guide. That was pretty much all I did. If you are not good at math, I'm fairly sure CCBC has a session or 2 to help prepare you the math portion.

OB Rotations
I just finished my rotation and had a male student in my clinical group. He did not have any problems with patients allowing him to care for them and their newborn or being present during their births. It was encouraging to see several male nurses on the unit as well.

OB Rotations
I just completed, what my school calls our "maternal/newborn" rotation. Our clinical groups were spread out over several hospitals, some of which had a NICU, others did not, some were small community hospitals, others were huge hospitals. My experience was at a small community hospital and I enjoyed it. We were 'required' to observe a lady partsl birth, perform a postpartum assessment and newborn assessment, obseve a CIRC, observe a c-section (if the opportunity came about), etc... The biggest thing to remember with OB, is that for the most part, you are dealing with healthy patient's so the time spent there may seem long and it can almost seem boring. But, when things start going, or you have one patient in labor, a postpartum Mom with a newbaby, etc... things can heat up and fast. It was very rewarding for me and I loved it. If there were not laboring pateints, we got postpartum patients, if they were scarce, sometimes a student was placed in the nursery. Several other clinical groups had time to spend in the NICU, but the hospital that I was at did not have one. Hope this helped!

Help determining diagnosis
As discussed already, you realize you are to make nursing dianoses not medical ones correct? If you know this, you should look up acceptable NANDA nursing diagnoses and pick ones that fit your patient's current medical conditions. Not sure if this is how you are taught, but at my school we have to do "NANDA label related to ________ as evidenced by _______." OR Risk for _____ related to _____. Hope this helps.

Just got accepted to CCBC Essex
I will be applying for this program in the spring. I was hoping to get some of my cost out of the way early by asking my family to get me supplies for Christmas/birthday etc. I cannot find a supply list anywhere. Can you give me a heads up on any supplies that are required before your start? Thanks!- Nikki
