A FUMING MAD VENT!
For the record, I have taken intermediate algebra and scored an A and I have taken college algebra and scored a B!!!! Its not that I am BOMBING these test, they are (the Teas) brand new to our school, and this is the VERY 1ST year they offered them! I can't re take it until NEXT January! -To everyone else....thanks so very much for your CONSTRUCTIVE critisim! Some of these ideas I had not thought of!

A FUMING MAD VENT!
So......I did NOT get into the adn program at my school! Why!? because of my ACT score! YES! I have a 16, and YES! I have taken it 4 different times and got a 16 all 4 times! On the website of the school it says they will accept students with a 16 ACT score as long as they have had 20+ course hours! I have 80! I have been out of school for 9 years! I also did NOT do so well on my TEAS I only scored a 55! BOTH these test scores were a result of my math sections. I was never taught the correct way to do algebra in high school! My school has a nursing math offered in the summer (IF ACCEPTED!) My problem is this....I believe school puts WAY too much emphasis on these "entrance tests" THEY SAY ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT WHAT TYPE OF PERSON I AM OR WHAT TYPE OF STUDENT I AM! I MAINTAINED A 4.0 FOR THE PAST 2 SEMESTERS!!! I MEAN, OF COURSE I CAN GO OUT AND SCORE A 90 ON THIS DARN TEST, BUT IF I LACK THE COMPASSION AND THE COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND HEART....THEN JUST HANG ME UP TO DRY! **I BELIEVE** NURSING IS A CALLING! EITHER U HAVE WHAT IT TAKES OR YOU DONT! APPARENTLY SOME PPL THINK I DONT! BUT....I AM NOT ONE TO JUST LIE DOWN AND TAKE IT! I HAVE A MEETING WITH THE NURSING DEPT ON MONDAY ( BY REQUEST OF MY PRE-SEMINAR INSTRUCTOR!) HOPEFULLY I CAN PERSUADE THEM TO AT LEAST PUT ME ON THE ALTERNATE LIST. THIS IS MY DREAM!!! I AM NOT WILLING TO GIVE IT UP THAT EASY!!! THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO VENT! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LEAVE COMMENTS, BUT TRY TO REFRAIN FROM ANY NEGATIVE ONES! I FEEL JADED ENOUGH!

Need some advice.
I dont mean to be harsh, but if body fluids are not your thing...you may want to consider another career path outside of the healthcare field! Take it from me....I was a dental assistant for the past 8 years..their are plenty of "body fluids" in that field as well! Clinicals in nursing school are very hands on, by that I mean TOTAL PATIENT CARE!! YOU bathe the pt, YOU turn the pt, YOU change the pt...ITS ALL YOU! This is not a field for the weak! It takes a very special person to become a nurse and most ppl feel that it is their calling! I think you may need to educate yourself a little more before choosing a career path in the healthcare world! Its not all guts and gore, but it may be a thing that you can over come..you never know! Best of luck to you in whatever you choose to do.

Adderall and nursing school
I take it as well! We had drug testing just about 3 weeks ago...all I had to do was tell my instructor I had a valid prescription for it and everthing was fine! U will be fine! NO NEED TO FREAK OUT!! The previous poster is correct. All they will do is askthat you have proof its prescribed...NO BIGGIE!

farrmer's wife w/kids......and NO help!
Thanks so much! I haven't thought of the kid friendly play area...one thing my hubby suggested is that maybe I could set my alarm so that I could get up before everybody else does and study. I think this would actually work seeing as though I am a morning person anyway.. Bless his heart, he is determined to make this work! Thanks for all of your suggestions!!

farrmer's wife w/kids......and NO help!
Bob, you are very right! I accept that! But....his job has no lead way what so ever! I mean..he is here from nov.-feb. But..that doesnt help me too much! I have "recruited" my sister to help, but she lives about 30 minutes away. I will get through this! I always do!!! Lord willing and the creek dont rise! We have managed thus far, but its just now getting to the point that i have to actually ask for help (which was a hard pill for me to swallow!) i just need to sit down and figure this all out before it gets to "crunch time":d thanks again for the comments!

farrmer's wife w/kids......and NO help!
hey all! i just received my letter for my interview...i am SO VERY EXCITED! i just have some questions to anyone out there who may be a farmers wife, or anyone who is in my situation that could help! My hubby is VERY supportive, however, HE IS A FARMER! (We have 2 kids 5,and 15 months)This means that from about mid Feb-mid Oct. he stays pretty darn busy! He works mon-sat from 5:30 a.m- about 9:pm every night! He is the BOSS, so he can not leave to take the kids to school, pick them up, or anything like that. I do not work, but i take 18 hours of classes right now. My question is this....can anyone out there relate? i was just wondering how u do it?? Sometimes I FEEL like i have so much riding on me! I DO NOT have much of a support system, and with that being said I have managed so far to maintain a 4.0 for this semester!! but...i was looking for any ideas at all on time management, study tips, etc. Thanks for your help! (sorry about the title! i dont know how to change farmers! lol!!)
