  1. CONGRATS!! Ok I went to an interview at md anderson today & H.R told me they have a LVN position that just opened so you might want to try there & I don't think you need to have certain amount of experience either good luck
  2. Thanks so much for the advice thats sucks that they went back on their word. We need nurses and you would think that since you guys are grads. they would hire you on the spot thats crazy. Yeah when i first graduated from high school i went to lonestar-cyfair i was applying to their RN program and they had me on the wait list for 2 sems. so i decided to transfer to HCC & go for LVN. Its a difficult process I felt like giving up too but becoming a nurse is something tht I really want to do so im gonna hang in there. Im glad you told me about san jac im going to look up the application process. I hope the job hunt goes well good luck i'll keep my fingers crossed. You should apply at Kelsey Seybold they have alot of LVN job openings you just have to go to St. Luke's website to do it. P.S.-I dont know which area your in but if your in the Northwest area of town you should try applying at North Cypress Hospital its off 290 I know theyre hiring LVNs as well. I was looking for CNA positions in hospitals and I ran across it.
  3. Hi I dont know the base pay for lvn's but my sister is a lvn at memorial hermann and she gets paid $20 but she's been a lvn for 6yrs. i dont know how much they pay for graduate nurses. I know good places to work would be memorial hermann, TCH, St. Lukes, and Methodist they all have good benefits. Also if you dont mind me asking where did you graduate from? Im currently going to HCC for the LVN program Im going to apply for the program in the spring was the LVN program hard thanks so much
  4. Thanks so much for this post it is inspiring. Im starting my CNA classes on Monday and this post reassured that I want to be a Nurse and becoming a CNA would be the perfect way to start my journey.
  5. Thanks so much yes its pretty outrageous. HCC is way cheaper their lvn program is 3,000. Im gonna do the lvn and do the bridge program to RN. Medvance is crazy for that price there counselor tried to convince me that I should join he said that they had a couple of people who dropped out the program because they didnt have there money on time.I dont blame them that price is ridiculous.
  6. Yes I've heard of medvance I actually went to a info session they had about the lvn program. They made me take a test about basic math and science and if you passed the test you had a chance to talk with a counselor about the program. The program is pretty expensive its 24,000 I decided not to do it because of the price Im gonna apply to HCC in the fall well good luck on what you decide to do
  7. Hi Kyla I think I can help you Im starting CNA classes Sept.1 at Texas Health School the price is reasonable its only 3weeks and they help you find a job after your done. You can get your CNA certifications from community colleges and some technical schools that offer it. I would recommend getting your CNA if you want to get some experience in nursing & theres always a need for CNAs whether in hospitals or nursing homes. I hope this helps you if you need any more info just let me know I'll be glad to help ypu
