If you are a New Grad looking for a job in NJ
Coming from a old new grad ( graduated in may 2009) . It is very tough not to be discouraged. I cannot give successful advice, as I'm still unemployed, but dont' be discouraged. Expect rejection, but hope for more. You've made it through nursing school. You will make it. It is a sad time that RN's are now questioning their hard earned education. Keep trying and applying! You are worth it!

Thanks!!... Those are great questions. I can only hope that is the salary I'm offered. Congrats on your graduation. I apologize for the economy we've graduated into .. but I wish you the best of luck.

Dialysis Interview
I graduated in May 09 and have finally gotten my first interview.I have recently scheduled an interview with an outpatient hemodialysis center. It is my understanding that they are willing to put the time and money into training me! Which is a great relief. Are there any common questions that I can expect to be asked during this interview?? At this point in my job search I am desperate for a RN position, but I don't want to seem so. What questions should I ask to let them know I am interested? Also, what is the typical starting salary for a new grad dialysis RN in the are (NJ/PA)? Not that I would refuse any salary, just curious. Thanks for the help in advance!

How i landed a new grad position
I'm sure he/ she worked hard, no where in my post did I say he/she didn't. I've gone through nursing school as well. It's hard. I don't down play that at all. I am offended by the grandiose attitude throughout her post. Maybe, you have a job, and don't know how what it feels like to be a completely competent RN and be passed over. I,in no way want to pass on negativity.

How i landed a new grad position
Sounds as if you are completely arrogant! While I'm happy that you found a new grad RN position in NJ, in this terrible time, your attitude is very condescending. There are many hard working, competent RN's out there still looking for jobs. Possibly you do not appreciate the how hard we've searched for many more months than you have. I'm happy for your luck, but a great cover letter and resume is not the golden ticket.

RN... Feeling Bad
I graduated in May with my BSN knowing the economy was terrible. I took into account that I wanted to get into neonatal nursing I've limited myself. I've broaden myself to pediatrics and still cannot find a job. I graduated pretty high in my class. I know the deciding factor is that I do not have any experience. Throughout my schooling I was unable to take a job due to my mother's illness. She had a nurse that was with her 5 to 7 days a week. After my father took a severe pay cut we decided that I was capable of doing the same thing her nurse was doing. Now I feel that I"ve made the biggest mistake of my life, because I have no experience. I'm not sure how to gain the experience I need to get the job I want:(
