Damn, that was probably tough... I just gave my opinion about what I thought they did. Didn't know they could let people know only weeks before it starts.

I think it starts after whether they have received the applicants deposits or not. If someone doesn't send it in within the time frame they may get replaced? Or if people do accept and then change their mind to go somewhere else. So it could have started in March and probably ends in July. Because the programs start in August.

I ordered mine today actually...so you're not that far behind me...I went with the Littman II S.E.Classic as well, in Raspberry. Hope I got the same one as everyone else...wasn't sure which one was the right one to get.

It looks like everyone is going for the Saturday class. I also work full-time and have a lil one. So that is the only class I can do. What kind of shoes is everyone looking into getting?

I agree with you about the IPhone...I really want one, but don't want the extra monthly expense of it. I can't afford anything extra right now. I might just go with an IPod Touch...I read the document they had about PDAs vs Smart Phones and both had good points. My phone I have currently is a Blackberry. I think I could use that even. But I've been thinking about keeping my phone for my phone and getting somethine else for school. Instead of having everything on an IPhone...because if I lose my phone, I'd lose everything. My sister goes to Gynedd for nursing and she uses her IPod Touch (16G) and loves it. So I might just do that. Are you calling May 1st to schedule for the class or e-mailing them? Are they even there on Saturday's? I am getting so excited!!

Got all my books today, seen my doctor, scheduled my CPR class and my chart review at Abington...I am feeling accomplished. Even though there is still a long list that needs to be completed still...haha. Haven't decided what I am going to use as my PDA...kinda want an IPhone. I'm so excited about Dixon! Next weekend is when we can register for N100 and order our uniforms I believe. It says that you can call or e-mail starting May 1st...but it's a Saturday. What day is everyone else choosing?

Mommi97, We probably did have courses together. I have been at Manor since Fall '07...it took me longer to finish because I work full-time and I'm a single mom. Just glad I'm finally graduating. I was looking at the CPR schedule and probabaly need to take a Saturday class as well, but I am already certified by AHA, so I think I just need to renew my certification...but I am going to ask them when I call tomorrow. I took Stats last semester and did well, in my interview with Dixon they mentioned the Techinal Math to me and how they recommend students to take it, its not mandatory. But they were the ones that told me about the course at Manor...so I figured why not...I'll do whatever I can to learn.

Hey everyone, i ordered my books as well and am trying to get everything done too...hopefully you are all right that it just looks like alot. I graduate from Manor in May and then I am taking Tech Math there in the summer....just to refresh my math and get acquainted with calculations. I am also E/W...can't wait to meet you all!

Trigirl, thanks for your reply. The reason why I am asking so many questions about the schedule is because I am planning my wedding. Just been going back and forth about just waiting til after I graduate. School is number one, but I also don't want to wait over 2 years...we'll see.

I have two more questions about abington's program for anyone that is currently attending...what handheld devices do they let you use for clinical? Or do you have to buy one through them? Also, for E/W it says you get term breaks...since we don't get the summers off. When are they usually and how long are they?? Thanks!

This question is for anyone currently attending or graduated. Do both the programs graduate at the same time? When do they graduate? I heard someone say May but then someone else said September...so I was just wondering.

I was wait listed for the '09 year and was just accepted into the '10 year. (because my pre-reqs weren't complete.) But last year when I called to see what was going on and if they were going to have any openings they said that they wait til the deadline for those who were accepted to pay their acceptance fee...some people accept other schools, some people change their minds and some may have other things that happened and couldn't accept the seat. But I'm sure they would let you switch if you really had to, as long as someone else didn't accept...plus that would open an E/W spot for someone else. I was told that e/w is harder to get a seat in then the day program. So you might find someone looking to switch their day for an e/w spot. You never know....good luck!

Philadelphia Part Time Programs
Clinicals are every weekend, correct? Did you like their program? Where were your clinicals at?
-
abington hospital dixon school of nursing
Thanks! Same to everyone! Good Luck to all that applied and Congrats to all that have been accepted. Hope to be there in the fall!

i was told that they interview about 10-20% of their applicants, so it's definately a positive thing being asked to come in for an interview. But I don't know how correct my source is.

Philadelphia Part Time Programs
For Harcum's evening program, what days/times are the classes and clinicals?
-

I hope so too! I want it so bad....believe me you'll know when I hear. I'll be telling everyone...haha. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. I keep going over the interview in my head and thinking about what was asked and what I said. I mean the interview went well, don't get me wrong. I just know that they interview alot of people and only accept so many...so I'm worried.

Thanks, I'll need it. It is so competitive to get in there...I'm praying that I get in. I applied for evening/weekend. I work full-time and have a son, so I have no other choice.

Hi everyone, I too applied to Dixon and had my interview this past Tuesday. It went very well and was told that I would know by March 1st. All my pre-reqs are done and completed. So now I wait and run to the mailbox everyday hoping for my letter.
