What have you decided to do at this point? As for myself...I'm in Cincinnati and feel like I just need to load up my vehicle and hit the highway...I miss the Southwest!

I am an ADN and have been a PHN for almost three years. I did have six years of nursing experience in other areas...acute care, geriatric, Hospice...but I don't think the prior experience influenced my getting the current job. I say go for it...contact your county (or city) health department!! :) :) :)

San Jacinto Community College has a great ADN program....sorry, though I have a daughter in Houston, I haven't lived or worked there in 5 years....so I'm not familiar with additional schools....don't think you'll be disappointed in San Jac though....blessings to you!

Anyone with information about nursing in Temple, Texas or surrounding areas? Am currently working as a Public Health Nurse, but also experienced Hospice. I am thinking about relocating as my aging parents live in the area. Thanks for your help!! :)

Anyone from the Cottonwood/Sedona area? Guess I just need to hear some news from "home". What is the cost of living like now (as opposed to six years ago?!) What is the job market like for nurses now? Experienced Hospice or Public Health Nurse in need there? How about just describing the beauty surrounding you....missing the earth and the heavens!

Thank you for the information, John! No, I haven't even been to Pensacola to visit...yet. Right now I'm "seeing" Florida through the eyes of others who have been...kind of an interesting approach. I know I want to be back down South again (am originally from Texas)...am in desperate need of warmth, sun, warm hearts of the south,....did I say WARMTH AND SUN???!!! Another area that a coworker suggested exploring is Port Orange area. She said there is alot to do there, cost of living is good, beautiful beaches.....I feel like a kid in a candy store with all the possibilities. Again, I appreciate your insight...thank you!!

My family would like to move to Florida within the year. Can anyone give me some information about the Pensacola area? Is it a good place to take my family (I'm a single mom). What about cost of living there and salary range for RN Hospice nurse (also Public Health Nursing)? Any insight and information will be greatly appreciated!!!!

The fact that your heart whispers "hospice" to you will eventually take you there...but I would recommend getting some clinical experience first. I can tell you that my "hospice heart" was well utilized during my Med/Surg learning curve. There was the 21 year old young woman who went in for an appendectomy...only for them to discover metastasized ovarian cancer...and my AIDS patients...and on and on......you'll get there...angels walk with you!
