Look around and send out resumes like mad. If they treat their CNAs poorly they treat all staff poorly. That shortage of care will become your responsibility when those patients are assigned to you as the RN. If you make a mistake due to poor preceptor-ship, lack of adequate charge nurse supervision, or too high patient to staff ratio they will hang you out to dry and it could cost you your license.

If you have the aptitude, time and dedication to study hard then you are at the absolute perfect time in your life. Old enough to have some idea of who you are as an individual and very young to handle the physicality that nursing requires. I do not know what you know about nursing or the field of nursing that you are interested in but be prepared for the good the bad and the ugly. Good luck!!

that's a gpa of 3.36, which is okay. when i enrolled the lowest gpa accepted was 3.2. i am not sure about your hesi, when i enrolled in august of 09 they did not use it towards the entrance only as guide for future benchmarks. if this is now used you can pay and retake it to get a higher grade. important, as for working 50 plus hours and trying to go to that school... good luck. out of approximately 140 people on my first day (north campus only) i graduated with 17 of those people. yes 140 to 17. the actual number of people that graduated from north campus with me was about 50 people but 33 of those were retrackers i.e. failed or dropped out of the program at one point and had to come back into the program to graduate. some failed a class and had to retake it and graduated one semester behind me, some failed two classes and had to leave the program and complete lpn school before being allowed to reenter the program and some who were lpn's that came back to the program failed again and are no longer eligible to be in the program. i knew 3 people who worked and graduated ontime with me. i think only one of them was full time and she was a genius. all of the others who worked could not keep it up. , work overtime now, go on a strict budget apply for financial aid and take out student loans so that you can afford not to work or work part time only.
