  1. Jen3p, I feel your pain. I have had that happen to me before. What I suggest is finding out what the last day for payment is for the Fall semester and very early the next morning check the classes again. If your school is like mine a few of those already registered that did not pay are dropped from the courses giving others the chance to register. Hope this helps! *NewStart2010*
  2. So orientation is tomorrow. I know some of you have been through it already and was wondering what should I expect. I am all of a sudden so nervous about the whole thing (meaning nursing school since it is just a month away).
  3. So orientation will be December 1st and the day after is when I will be able to register. I will purchase the uniforms first and will purchase textbooks when I get the syllabus. I have my appointment set up for the CPR class for the following week and need to make an appointment for the vaccines and physical. I am getting nervous all of a sudden. It seems that so many times I have been close to starting and something happens that I have to cancel. I hope this time is different and that I am able to start the program in January. I wonder if that nursing kit that they sell at the uniform store will be any good. *NewStart2010*
  4. It is great that you got the classes/clinicals that you wanted. *NewStart2010*
  5. Congrats on getting the classes that you wanted!!!! How exciting for you. *NewStart2010*
  6. Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking that everything would be done at the Parma hospital. I guess I would have found out once I went to orientation. That location is so much closer to where I live. *NewStart2010*
  7. I believe they are. I checked the class schedule and it looks like they accept 32 students to the program, mainly Parma Hospital employees. I am very happy to not have to drive downtown. That was the one thing I was dreading. On the other hand, I won't have the opportunity to do clinicals in any of the other hospitals. I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing just yet.
  8. I got an email through my tri-c space stating that I will get the orientation email in October. I was just contacted this week about starting in the Spring and have heard that orientation for the PCGH is on a different date. I will call or email Heidi to make sure though.
  9. Thanks for the info. I scheduled the CPR class for November just in case I am required to take it at Parma and have to cancel. It probably doesn't matter where you take it, but better be safe than sorry. I am taking it through the American Health Association. Thanks for posting the link.
  10. I was told that orientation is in November and that I will get the information email in October. I have the info about the immunizations/medical requirements and I am tempted to just schedule the appointments and get it over with. Did you do the CPR course?
  11. Hi ScottE. I was placed for Fall 2011, but recently got a call asking if I was interested in starting this Spring through the Parma General Hospital program. I am so excited I get to start in January and not have to wait until August. :anpom:
  12. Thanks for all the info. I also received my packet today and am very excited . I still haven't been added to the ADN group; I guess I will give them a few days and then will call them if I don't get added. I wonder what color our scrubs are going to be. The orientation is scheduled for May 25th for the generic program, not sure if it will be the same for the accelerated group. It also says that we will be able to register for the nursing classes on June 7. I also wish you the best of luck!!!!
  13. SA2009, Thanks for posting the information. I guess I will be looking at places for the CPR course and also making an appointment with my doctor for the vaccines and the physical. Are you starting in the day or evening/weekend program? What rumors have you heard? I too am nervous. I will be working full time while doing the nursing program and am nervous that I will have a hard time. *NewStart2010*
  14. Thanks, AssociateDegree. *NewStart2010*
  15. I am also in the evening/weekend program.
  16. Me too. I had my fingerprinting done this past Monday. Are you in the evening or day program?
  17. Hi, Nurse2b2. I am due to start in August as well and started a thread called "Tri-C Fall 2010". Have you received the packet with all the info in it yet? *NewStart2010*
  18. Thanks. I will definitely let you know about the immunization requirements. When do you start the program? *NewStart2010*
  19. Thanks, ScottE. *NewStart2010*
  20. ScottE, did you get a copy of the report for the background check? I recently registered for the background check and am curious about the process.
  21. Just thought about starting this thread for students who will be starting clinicals in August. I am starting in the evening/weekend program. Hoping for weekend clinicals. I just paid for the background check and will be doing the fingerprinting on Monday. I called the nursing department and the receptionist told me that the packets will be mailed out this week. Looking forward to meeting others who will be starting this Fall . *NewStart2010*
  22. Thanks for the quick reply. I will be calling them tomorrow because I do not want to be dropped from the program for not getting the background check done even though I have not received any type of notification. I hear you about the spending, $85 is a lot of money.
  23. I will be starting the nursing program this August and I have not received a letter from Tri-C that states that I have to complete background check/immunization before May 3rd. I am a bit concerned. In my acceptance letter it stated that I would receive all the information and orientation date some time in May. Has anyone else here received the letter?
  24. Congratulations!!!!!!I remember when I took the NET last Spring I had to wait for the results in the mail. You are that much closer to starting Nursing school.
  25. Hi Sheeroo, Congrats!!!!!! I am sad to say that I had to change my start term to Fall 2010. I just don't think that I am ready to start in January due to some things that I need to take care of. NewStart2010
