  1. I thought it was 8 choices but they are all of the major Army Med Centers- Walter Reed (in D.C.), Womack (Ft. Bragg, NC), Eisenhower (Ft. Gordon, GA), Brooke (San Antonio), Tripler (Oahu), Madigan (Ft. Lewis, WA), Landstuhl (Germany), Beaumont (Ft Bliss, Tx). Maybe Ft Hood, Tx is one, but I didn't think it was considered an AMC.
  2. I had 250 questions, took me 5 hours. I passed! Woo!! I was so worried, but it turned out great!! :) Lots of priority, I must have had 20 select all that apply, and around 10 math. Yikes!
  3. I only did qtrainers 1-5 and didn't get above a 60 on any of them. I did a bunch of qbank as well, and the best i got was 69 but that was the day before the NCLEX and I did it with a friend. Other than that, not above a 63 on qbank questions. I took NCLEX, had 250 questions, an agonizing 5 hours, but PASSED!! Your scores are great, you WILL pass! :) You just have to have confidence. After the exam, I ws so drained and felt like I knew NOTHING about nursing. But I got my results and apparently, I do know a little something. :) Good luck. Memorize basic lab values.
  4. Thanks for the info! I'll check into Mililani. No kids to worry about thought!! :)
  5. I did the same as Zombie, and it worked for me. Right click hte link and select 'Copy Link Location' and then you should be able to open a new tab and remove the blocked part. As for those acronyms- I haven't a clue!! The DML thing might have something to do with that being the region that Ft. Hood is responsible for...? A complete guess though.
  6. Boonersmom...4 hours? Jeez...were your grades decent? Did you take a review class? I am not motivated either! I MUST pass in order to secure the job I have lined up, but I am really slacking compared to some of my classmates. I have never been the type to study for hours- I am a big crammer/procrastinator. I am hoping this doesn't bite me in the butt for this!! I took the Kaplan review and have done some qbank and qtrainers 1-5, but am getting mid50s-60 on average. They say this should be fine, but I still worry. I haven't reviewed content much either. Just looking for some piece of mind, I test in 2 days!!! Holy moly!!
  7. The woman on the phone said something about it being a DEERS card? I think that's what she said, so maybe I have the wrong thing?? My recruiter is on vacation this week otherwise I'd ask him...haha...
  8. Hi Rose, sounds great...I think you have to have 15 posts to be able to PM someone? So I am just messing around on here trying to get up to 15 haha...Will PM you when I figure this out! I'm not new to the site, but I am newly registered.
  9. Ugh that's annoying! Okay, I will have to check into that. I thought it was weird considering the fact that Reservists have ID's...Did you get the ID card with the microchip in it? Maybe that's all they do now, but I have seen different ones...
  10. How long does it take you to get to Tripler from Mililani, and how far to the beach :) Thanks. What are your thoughts on Kaneohe and Kailua?
  11. Sobi, Not sure if you are still active on this site, but I am going to Tripler in September after OBLC and am wondering how you like it out there?
  12. Just an FYI: I just called the ID card office. Apparently, I will have to wait to get to Fort Sam in order to get my ID. You must be Active Duty status in order to get one, and since I am considered IRR right now until I go down there, I can't get one.
  13. Thanks so much for the info!!
  14. I told my recruiter my top 3 when I was going through the application process but it never really came into play until the Major who handles new LT's called me to give me my orders. She then asked me where I wanted to go. I told her Hawaii and she said "we can do that for you". This was about a month ago, and I got commissioned in late January.
  15. Hi, I am a new grad waiting to go to the July 09 OBLC class. I received my first duty assignment- Tripler Army Med Center. This was my first choice (very excited!!). Just wondering if anyone has worked there, what they could tell me about their experiences (good and bad), and basically anything about life on Oahu. I am from New England, so this is going to be different for sure! Also, what's the Army life like after OBLC and in Oahu? And lastly, where are some good areas to live? I've heard that traffic is a nightmare around Honolulu. I'd like to be as close to the beach as possible, but don't want to deal with the traffic!! Thank you!:bowingpur:bow:
