  1. Breathing pattern ineffective
  2. If you are just going to use it for yourself only and you are not a nurse just get a cheap one. I thought you are a nurse so, I recommended Littmans.
  3. Get a littman, it's the best! I have cardio III and s.e. Classic II. I highly recommend because of their quality and warranty. You can get a nice pair of classics at medisave.net. They have free engraving and really fast shipping. If you live on the eastcoast you'll get it by day or two. Don't pay for extra shipping if you live near CT.
  4. Usually, college algebra was not required for the school I'll be attending, but at least intermediate algebra was required. I know most school focuses on the main science course but, I think having a good math background should give you better understanding of certain aspects of measurements and some sort of metric reading. I think you should stick to it. Go to the tutoring lab and make sure you fully understand the things you learned and keep on practicing. Math is just about practice, it isn't like other subject like Microbio, AP one, AP two etc.. I know you have mentioned you are above average intelligence. I don't want to be rude but, any person with above average intelligence should to fine in any college level math. College math as you mentioned (College algebra, Trig, Calc, Stats etc..) Sometimes you shouldn't hurry too much to be where you want to be. I think the most important thing is to know the reality of your situation. But, if you really want to pursue a career as RN you have to realize it isn't easy. Take me for example, it took be almost 1.5 yrs to even apply for clinical for my school. These prereqs wasn't easy for me either. I came back to college after 10 yrs and I couldn't get the hang of studying. Well, I hope you get to where you want to be. Good luck and don't give up.
  5. Why don't you just take a blended course at your community college? I really don't know how they are going to do the labs online. Its not much of a lab if you compared to Chemistry or Microbiology but, you still want to be there with an instructor to learn exactly what part of the body he or she is talking about and to get some hands on learning experience. Well, I wish you luck and an A for your Class!
  6. Don't take blended classes if you are not familiar with online courses. They tend to move pretty quick. But anything is possible when you put your mind to it. I took ap2 and microbio at the same time.
  7. A and P I is about good memorization. If you pay attention in class and you know all about the lab you should do fine. Summer courses tend to go little bit faster than Fall and Spring but, its manageable. I took A&P2 and Microbiology last summer, let me tell ya.. it wasn't that bad at all. Just pick a right professor for you and you should do fine. go to Ratemyprofessor.com to check the rating of the professor for your classes. Good luck and I wish you luck!!!
  8. Wow! Congrats!!!! Well I probably see you in fall!!!
  9. I just got an acceptance letter from HACC Harrisburg campus for clinicals for 2010 fall. Damn, listening to couple post on here makes me hopless for clinicals. I talked to couple students in their third semester into clincals and they told me its hard but, it isn't impossible. I already know 2 people who graduated with RN at Harrisburg campus and they encouraged me to attend HACC for nursing. They told me the program is great and I'll learn a lot. Ofcourse there are times you want to give up but, they told me you just have to get through with it. Mainly because real job isn't easy for new grads anyway. Well, guys wish me luck!!! Well for the Microbiology you are taking with Earl hmmm.. he isn't that great!!! You should have taken it with Mark Nicholos! Easy A!!! Well I wish you luck!
  10. I know this is a old post, but I thought you have to get all your prereqs before applying for clinicals! If you didn't take ap2 that's 20pts plus 4 pts. Each science is worth 20 each. and 2-4 points depending on your science grades. Good luck
