Help! I feel horrible.....
Ok. So. Kinda hard to explain this, but I will try my best. I feel horrible.. I work at a hospital as a transporter and today i went to get a patient from the floor for an X-ray. So, as I am there putting the IV bag on my stretcher pole, the pole extension drops and the IV bag falls on the floor (disconnecting from the IV sucking regulator thing, where the drip chamber is) and fluids leak out. Keep in mind i am in nursing school and i should know better, but i told the nurse that the bag "dropped" and she hooked the IV bag back together but i failed to inform her that it "dropped on the floor".....yikes.. i know once something hits the floor it is contaminated!!! So, why did I not say something to her about it hitting the floor and letting her hook it back up????!!! Once i got back up stairs i told her the bag "hit the floor" and she said "i swabbed the bottom of the bag w/ alcohol".. which made me feel a little better but she said that "i didnt tell her it hit the floor" and didnt seem to make a big deal out of it. but i am still worried about the patient coming down with some kind of blood disease or something. i feel horrible.. and i feel like a failure bc i will be a nurse soon, and i cannot afford to make mistakes like that. i dont know... i basically just neeed to vent and was maybe wondering if anyone else here might have experiencced something similar.. thanks for listening.....

Nervous!!! I start my first semester tomorrow!
I am really nervous right now about starting nursing school. Which I would assume to be normal. Just thought I could vent a little bit here and get some positive encouragement.. Maybe even a couple of tips .

A quick question for all you nurses
Thank you all VERY much for all of your inputs. I feel a lot better about all of this. Everyone makes mistakes and some learn from them and some dont.. but I did and now I have grown to be a lot more of a professional person in my opinion. I am sure I will be fine.

A quick question for all you nurses
Hello, My name is Aaron and I am a pre-nursing student. I have a applied to area nursing schools in Knoxville, TN for Fall 2011. My question is... When I was 19 I received 3 underage consumption charges because I was a stupid brand new college kid and made mistakes. ALL of my charges have been expunged, but I am worried that this will interfere with my future goals to becoming an RN. I am currently a CNA seeking a job. I am also worried about that as far as a background check. Like I said, my charges have been EXPUNGED. Have any of you nurses had a misdemeanor charge and got it expunged before you went to nursing school/got a job in the healthcare field? Did it show up/will it show up on a background check for nursing schools/employment? What do you think about my situation? I am 21 now.. so all of this happened approx. 2 years ago..
