Hey everyone, I will be starting UMB SG, gosh, in a few weeks. I will be relocating from quite a few miles away and need to find a room hopefully within biking distance to campus. Any tips for finding such a place? Craigslist my only shot? Any other students want to get a place? :)

I'm done with prereq's and looking for schools to apply to. Already, I applied to UM Baltimore which made me take the TEAS. I ended up getting 99th percentile! What other big city schools look at your TEAS score? Thanks! I'm just looking to apply to many schools since they are so competitive now.

It seems the school would make much more $$$ if they allowed out of staters to pay their inflated tuition. I don't get it. I live in the Denver area, and unfortunately there is really only one great BSN program in the state, University of Colorado @Denver. That's my number one, and then Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland Baltimore. Wish there was more in San Francisco - I love it there!

Hi, I'm almost done with prerequisites and therefore getting ready to apply to many BSN programs. Its so competitive out there! Anyway, I'm wondering what the names of the accreditations are that the schools should have. For example, one school I decided not to apply to because I was told they don't have such and such cred', which means you cannot go on to grad school. So, what accreditations do the good schools have? Thank you, Andrew

I'm getting ready to finally apply to programs in a few cities. One place is SFSU. However, on their website, they write the following: "You must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply to our undergraduate nursing programs: 1) Be a California Resident..." Am I to understand that they do not accept ANY out of state applicants? This is the first I have ever heard of such a thing.

I am getting closer to finishing my prerequisites for a BSN program, just to find out they are changing their application process. In order for me to start next year, I have to apply at the end of this spring, AND be finished with all coursework. Not possible. So I have the option to either work for a year and hope to get in 2012, or start looking at other schools. I will be looking at a "school of nursing" where you get your BSN. I am under the impression that when applying for more, I hate to say, elite positions at respected hospitals (magnet hospitals and the like), you will not even be considered unless you graduated from a university. What are some opinions about job competitiveness, and what type of school a nurse went to? I want to work hard to make myself marketable.

I have looked at CU Denver, and am very impressed. This is where I would like to go. They only look at your cum GPA, prereq GPA, and a one page (single spaced) essay. No TEAS. They emphasize a background of diversity and good numbers. There is no waiting list. Either you get in or you don't. I don't know anything about CSU.

Hi, I live in Colorado and I'm finishing up my prerequisites for the CU Denver BSN program. I would also like to apply to other top BSN programs across the country. I cannot find any sort of ranking online. Do you know of a ranking, or is there a general consensus of top schools? -Andrew
