I am gonna assume you only deal with one state. I have dealt with numerous BON and I don't llike to make mistakes so I read the BON and call and confirm BON's from time to time

You must understand that BON change requiremnts from time to time. It's not static. Once must read the website and make calls to BON to keep updated on each specific BON.

Why would one throw a Hissy Fit. You be nice but prudent, Keep notes of when you called and whom you spoke with. I suggest to get hold a supervisor and then contact them directly either by email or phone. Don't wait 6 months and wonder, Keep updated of your situation. Forgein Graduates seem to confuse some BON. Even when registering with Pearson VUE, they will not have enough spaces for long Filipino full name. Best thing to do is keep on top of any BON and stay updated, and it's always best to be nice but also be persistent.

What states are not answering the phones? I have no issues with Cali, Texas or New York. You may have to wait a few minutes while the phone rings but I have to strongly disagree with your statement "That some boards don't even bother answering anymore"

You need to get on the phone and blow up the phone system at the cali bon, Call and call them until you get through to them. I sure wouldn't of sit by for 6 months just waiting, I would of been calling about every 3 weeks. Get the name and extension of the person whom you have talked to. After a couple of calls, ask for a Supervisor and then note and date everytime you have called, keep complete notes. I have found some BON to be a little scattered brained to deal with

I believe it was University of Phoenix. they wanted 450 or 500 bucks per semester hour and it took 39 hours to complete. Looked at Kaplan Univ. and it was like 350 per hour, Don't know how many hours they want.

You have the hospital screen them first. If they are found to be illegal then have them pay upfront for medical and medicine, that's how it happens in other parts of the world. You don't have no money, you don't get treatment. There has to be a change in the way USA deals with Illegals in our system. Do a E-Verify system where they check their Social Security Number on line to make sure they are valid and legit. Stop bending over backwards to serve Illegals in USA. If a person comes to USA legally from most countries with a Visa, then they are sent to 2 day medical exam where they are checked for diseases.

You should contact the California Board of Nursing directly to verify this, not what you read on the internet or a fourm. If you are a recent graduate or it been less than 2 years since you graduated , then this rule does not apply for the Texas BON for Forgein Graduates.
