  1. The only rule with our dress code is no denims...Some of the stuff these girls wear is pretty wild...especially the peds nurses...Even what some of the uniform shops around here are selling now is kinda crazy. Girls can walk in and shop for hours just as if they are at the mall. Guys walk in and goto the corner that has all the plain stuff and we're outta there. I just wear plain old green, royal blue, or navy blue unisex scrubs...boring! :zzzzz
  2. There's a shortage because the baby boomers are getting too old and they're all falling out...on top of that, most nursing programs are pretty selective, even for just a 2 year RN...duh
  3. You can take an advanced track program to get your BSN in two years max. I've even heard of some people with BS degrees in other fields doing it sooner than that with online coursework. After that you could apply to a CRNA program but they'll tell you to get some experience in ccu or trauma units. Upon completion of the BSN, I would do everything I could to get into one of those units and gain that experience. In the mean time you can take grad science courses related to the track. ADN's are good but if you have the credits already I don't see why you can't transfer into the junior year of an AP BSN program. Most colleges and universities have that option. Good Luck.
  4. I agree. Definitley try to get into CCU or Trauma if you haven't already to get that experience. Most programs want 1-3 years before they'll even consider you. As with every other field in nursing this one is super competitive and you should always apply to as many programs as you can. Good Luck!
