  1. I like this idea better than FB! I will add myself.
  2. Hi! I have been following the thread but I have never commented online(I had to take steps to find my login etc). I was accepted into the Augusta CRNA Program 2019. I sent Laura an email to see if she is allowed to send me everyones email address. I wanted to create Facebook group so we can make sure we do not miss information as it comes out. Also, some of us may need a roommates etc. Send me a private message with your email address/name and Ill see what I can set up. I know 3 other people in the program already. Thanks C.R.
  3. Thanks! Yes, I had my clinical sites on there. Thanks so much. Its a really frustrating experience right now. But Im just going to keep on applying!!
  4. I have an offical cover letter and resume. I have to admit I do not have much experience. My nursing program was intense and we were suggested to not work (but I was in clinical every semester-15months). I only have volunteer experience- camp for diabetes, armc(i volunteered their for almost 2 yrs), and i worked at a 2 week clinic in costa rica and panama. How long was your resume? I only put nursing related stuff not my past job. My resume is one page.
  5. Gwinnett medical (GMC) only hire new grads into the residency program. GMC said they will post another residency thing insept/oct for the Janurary residencyprogram . I have been trying everywhere and applying everywhere. I have not had any luck. It sees alot of hospital are hiring withinand I already have my license so now I cannot even work as a tech (which I am so desperate right now I would do it). NE GA medical center I believe want s you to go throuh the residency progra mfor new grads as well. When I calledthey said they should be posting something in a few months.(side note: NE GA was so nice and they called me personally). I have noidea what to do being a new graduate.I am exploring every option and now I am applying to residency programs out of state. thanks for the info! I have been in touch with st marys & armc of and on
  6. I have not heard anything from St Marys. My sister goes to school in the athens area and told me that she has not heard of anyone hearing anything either... Let me know if you hear anything.
  7. Thanks for replying. When I called the HR they told me about open house too. I may just double check in the morning. Have you taken your boards yet? I was told (via grape vine) to apply to new grad positions before I take them. I plan on taking them ASAP.
  8. Hey. Is the Saint Mary's open house open to anyone? I saw it on the job listing so I thought it was open to anyone. I plan to attend tomorrow! Thanks Christina ps just graduated from KSU :)
  9. are you in the traditional or accelerated program?
  10. To the UGA persons questions... I am currently an accelerated KSU nursing student (I went to UGA and graduated with a biology degree too :). If you already graduated i suggest the accelerated program. I think overall they looked at GPA and specifically the pre-req. I had a high GPA and my Teas was okay ( I did not really study). For people reading this buy the TEAS ATI book...its word for word its not a hard test (in my opinion) and I suggest taking it right after your finished w/ A&P. For the interview questions: they ask a RANGE of questions. I suggest google interview questions. I did that and went through a 100 questions(or more). Im not very good at interviews. If you look at older posts (say... KSU interview questions 2009 etc..you can find old questions posted). They ask about cheating, care, organization, integrity etc... GOOD LUCK! I have not been on here in forever and will check if more questions are posted.
  11. owl express wont give me a ticket time. thats why i had to call the registar. "Malkavian", Were u a KSU student before?
  12. so I called the registar office since I am considered a transfer student I will not be able to sign up for classes until orientation. Just thought I would share the info if anyone else was in the same boat as me. KSU orientation is dec 11 & nursing orientation is dec 16th. theres no reason to worry or anything b/c our classes are guaranteed.
  13. Ok So here are my stats: -Graduate of UGA Biology Degree (gpa:3.67) my transcruipt is tainted by two C's which were in Calc II and Genetics (I took classes @ UGA & Gainesville state) -Teas: 84% (i could give u the breakdown if needed, my highest was science and my lowest was english) I only studied for the test for a week (but, I just finished A&P I II ) -out off all the pre-req required I had 9 A's and 3 B's (ENGL I, ENGL II, & Calc I) - Also, to practice for the interview I found questions throughout this website and came up with atleast 100 questions and answered all of them. In the interview they ask a lot of questions. Luckily I was not asked the moral question (ie: name a time in which you felt your morals have been compromised?) b/c I did not have an answer for that. - well feel free to ask me if you need more info! Hope THIS info helps! :)
  14. I promise to reply to your response sometime next week when I have all in the info in front of me. I wanted someone to supply the same info for me when I was applying. I was just accepted into the program for spring 2010.
  15. Has anyone be able to figure out when they can register for classes? Owl express wont tell me my time slot
  16. nov 1st? dang thats a ways. Emilysuz.. I remember you were next to me at the interviews you said you had friends in the program that moved to atlanta. Can you refresh my memory what they did again? Im trying to decide to just go ahead and live in atl since accelerated starts clinicals in the 1st semester (not 100% sure about that but i think thats what they said in the interview).
  17. my letter finally came too:). So does anyone know anyone who has been in the accelerated program before? I have to move near KSU and im going to start looking for apartments ASAP(im looking north of atl & marietta at the moment). When I talked to my interviewers they were like dont live in jasper b/c your clinicals wont be there& there is nothing there. I was just wondering if anyone knows anyone and can suggest and ideal place to possibly live.
  18. I found out through email. (hopefully there was no mistake). I did not even ask if I did or did not get in..I sent an email asking when we would receive letters and then I got a response telling me I got in. My email said that letters should be in today, but since i still have not gotten anything in the mail either I thought I would say something. (note**I applied to the accelerated program**)
  19. ps the time on here is WAY off.... i posted this 4:52pm(9/25/09) today
  20. I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay!
  21. Called today...they said letters have been delayed b/c of the flooding...They did not give me a date they just said "soon". ...pretty sure we are all thinking the same thing ("dang")... And im sure we are annoying the hell out of the nursing department... haha :)
  22. Still waiting with the rest of yall! I appreciate the updates on when letters will be out. ps congrats on who had the baby!
  23. Hey! I had my interview today! In response to what people were wearing: most people were wearing suits (pant & skirt suits), i saw a girl in black dress, dress pants & nice shirt. And they accept 95 people for accelerated plus traditional. They told me around 30ish students for accelerated. Good luck everyone! (I hope I did well...) And hopefully we will know before the end of October.
  24. I would think interviews are given to the best candidates for the selection. And, based on our application it had to depend on Gpa & teas score. Some nursing schools ask for experience &or recommendations so other schools look at other things like involvement. KSU seems like a grade & #s school. (I dont know any of this for a fact I am just inferring) If you got a interview i doubt your gpa & teas were to low :) ...but i do remember seeing a thread somewhere that said certain portions of the application are weighed differently...gpa % + teas%+ interview%.. but i dont know where they got the information from....
