  1. Keep your head up, hang in there!
  2. That's wonderful experience! My cover letter and resume was 3 pages in its entirety. However, I did add letters of reference and had my portfolio with me that I made in school. Do everything you can to market yourself, and the experience you do have. Also, some words of advice that came from my instructors-put your clinical sites/rotations on your resume. I wish you all the best!
  3. I was fortunate enough to be offered a position at St. Mary's, which I took. I will say, that they hire year-round, so keep trying. Same with ARMC, but I do not know the specifics. My advice, keep revising your resume, they really take your professionalism into consideration, especially with all the applicants out there. Make sure you're keeping in touch with the nurse recruiters and I'm sure something will come up. The trend I am seeing is that there are positions out there, you may just need to hunt further or compromise schedule conflicts for them. Good luck to you!
  4. Thats awesome! I am so happy for you! They asked me to resend my transcript so hopefully that doesn't hold me up for long.
  5. Thank you! And I hope your interview goes well! I had to do the paper application too, hopefully we'll both be able to get this test over and done with...it's torture waiting! :)
  6. I submitted mine the 2nd week of may, and they officially started processing it May 17th. Today, I got a few more fields put down as "completed" but then got an email saying they needed me to submit an offical transcript, which my school said they already did. So hopefuly after I get another one sent to them I will get my ATT in the next week. Yes I do have a job lined up in Athens, GA. I'm from out of state and all my classmates have scheduled/taken the NCLEX. I am hoping my delay with the GBON is normal, and employers down there are understanding.
  7. I knew it would take a while, I am just in the process of moving and it would be nice to know any information on how long it may take to be able to schedule the boards. Do you know, does it often actually take the full 25 business days? Today when I checked, I actually had several things "completed" on my status online. I thought that was a good sign, so maybe I won't be waiting too much longer? When did you put your application in hopefulnurse11?
  8. Is anyone else having trouble getting a response out of the GBON as far as obtaining your ATT? My application was acknowledged 2 weeks ago and they just said it can take up to 25 business days to process. Anyone else have trouble with getting their ATT? Do they actually take the 5 weeks to process? It's torture waiting, I just want to take the NCLEX and get it over with!
  9. Has anyone heard back on jobs at St. Mary's or ARMC lately?? Also, has anyone received ATT from the GBON?
  10. Oh and no I haven't taken boards yet. Still waiting on ATT from the GBON. I got an email today saying they were reviewing my application. I'm like you though, I'd like to take it ASAP!!
  11. Yeah I applied back in Feb (just because that's what we do in KS where I'm moving from) and interviewed with HR in March. They mentioned a panel interview may be held in April, but that's when they let me know about this open house, saying it was the first time they've done it. So I didn't know what they meant. But if it's on the job posting site I'm assuming its just open to new grads. I noticed they didn't have very many depts that will be there, so we'll see how it goes.
  12. Hey Christina, I didn't think it was open to everyone just because I had received an email about it from HR about 3 weeks ago. After I saw your post I looked at the job posting site and saw the notice about the open house. I'm guessing they opened it up last minute or just decided to let everyone know about it if they hadn't heard yet. Maybe we'll be the lucky few there and we'll both get jobs See ya there!!
  13. I couldn't agree with you more youcandoit. I have been trying to do all the "right" things with the competitive market today. I guess the only thing throwing me for a loop is the open house. We don't have anything like that here, so I'm trying to be as prepared as I possibly can. Trust me, I am so grateful and happy that I'm getting this far. Feels so close, but I know patience and perseverance is the key :)
  14. No problem! Let me know what you find out!
  15. Yeah, it's May 18th. I just got a flyer in my email, without too many specifics. I called HR and they told me this is the first time they've done this and after their round of HR interviews they put together this open house for the group to go on and speak to nursing directors that will be set up in stations. If I were you, I'd keep calling. I know about that fine line of persistence and perseverance. Have you done the initial HR interview? Do you have the nurse recruiters information? I do, if you need it!
