  1. Does anybody know anything about it? Is it just as hard to get a job if you're working as a nurse through the Army? Bad idea? Just any insight or advice would be nice.
  2. Sorry, I don't have an answer for this but i'm hoping that someone will answer it soon. I'm wondering the same thing minus two children.
  3. I just turned 18 in August and I finish Highschool in December and begin college in January.. I want to become a nurse but if it's just going to get worse, I might consider something else I would enjoy doing.. I'm looking for actual facts. Opinions are okay, but please tell me it's your opinion and not a fact if it is.
  4. I'm just wondering if the place you went to get to your LPN/LVN had a waiting list. Is it normal for them to have long waiting lists? I'm considering becoming a LPN first then become an RN because of how long it the waiting lists are for your ADN/BSN.
  5. Forgot to mention, i'm going to a CC then transfering my third year.
  6. I know it was a 'catty' remark. Uncalled for, yes that too. But when you're desperate for advice you want it fast. Sorry, i'm human. Anyway, thanks both of you for the responses. I'm going to a book store today to look for that book you mentioned, if not then a different book.
  7. Good to know people are only looking out for themselves.
  8. I'm 18, currently finishing my last semester of highschool and I plan to become a RN haven't yet decided if I wanted to get my ADN or BSN. Last year of highschool i've been really lazy and haven't been putting in much effort. I must say that in all of highschool i'm lucky to have made straight b's on my last grading period.. I'm homeschooled, and I basically teach myself through the books step by step. It's pretty hard and I get really distracted by things such as xbox, and my computer.. I know I need to change my study habits and manage my time better. I'm just looking for any sort of advice anyone may have. Have you been in my situation where you didn't have good study habits and still managed to become a nurse, or got accepted into a program? My main problem is remembering what I read... Idk how to improve this. P.S I finish highschool this December (4 months) and start college in spring of 2010..(january)
  9. Thank god my lip piercing won't close.. I also have a septum, which is easy to hide... I will be getting a few noticeable tattoos so I will just wear long sleeves if possible...I would take out a nose piercing while in the class or whatever.. as I would do with my lip piercing. But since my septum can hide, I won't be taking that out.
  10. Heh, I love this site. Good luck to all of you beautiful people.
  11. I hope someone answers this that knows what they're talking about. I'm the same way as far as over thinking and possibly going blank. Someone should definitely answer this.
  12. I will be 21 or 22 if I do it right.
  13. Thank you all for your answers. They all really helped me. My teacher got her pre-med but she didn't continue further in her career because she wanted to take care of her children, and teaching helped her do that. She told me that I might as well get pre-med "just in case".. Anyway.. I 'm thinking of just going straight to my BSN, at first I Was going to get my ADN but I might as well just go straight for it. I have the ultimate goal of becoming a CRNA. Thanks to you all. I have some years ahead of me ._.
  14. My teacher at highschool (one semester left) said that I should just go for pre-med instead. What makes that route different than a regular nursing route? I'm completely confused. She said I should get my bachlors in science? Help? What options does a bachlors in science give me that a bachlors in nursing doesn't? Any advice well needed. I'm 18 and I start college in January. P.S Sorry, I didn't know where to post this.
