What's Your Best Nursing Ghost Story?
Let's start by saying I don't believe in ghosts, or at least I didn't. I worked in an older hospital and in a totally locked icu unit. I was in the locked Med room getting meds for one of my patients, when I heard my name. Loud enough that I answered it. When I realized what had happened, I rushed out and asked my co worker if he had called me (he was in another pt room) and looked at me crazy. Another time, I was in an empty or room in the same unit. I had some down time so my tech was showing me a particular braid. We were alone, and suddenly hear three knocks on the wall next to us. The room next door was empty, and the only other pt there was intubated. Needless to say I'm a bit of believer these days.

Which pre-nursing classes did you find the most useful?
i found a psych class useful for learning apa format-most regular englishes classes only teach mla format. i also found spanish very helpful. even just a basic understanding makes you more valuable to a future employer. good luck on your future!

Time of the month in light colored scrubs
it's a perfectly good question to ask. the nursing school i went to required that we wear white pants (gah!!) and if it was "my time of the month" i always doubled things-at the time i was wearing tampons so not only would i wear a tampon but a pad-just in case. in my 2yrs in the bsn program i didn't have any problems. good luck!!

tired of hearing it, nursing students PLEASE answer
i graduated in dec 2008 and i know my program was hard and sucked! it was maily due to the amount of work, studying time, clinical time, and all the extra practice things they expected you to participate in. i missed a lot of time with my daughter when she was very young because of this, but it's all worth it in the end! maybe yours won't be like that, best of luck!!

Reading alot of posts discussing "A" nursing students vs "C" nursing students
i recently graduated (december 2008) from nursing school and carried a "C" average the whole time. ya know the funny part? i am a much better nurse the girls in my class that were "A" students. they may have been book smart, but when it comes to actually caring about patients and seeing to their needs they had no idea what to do, because the book didn't tell them how to deal with certain situations. it doesn't matter what grades you make in nursing school so long as you graduate and make it through boards.
