Hello, im thinking about taking an assignment in north carolina for 13 weesk, i am a full time nurse from georgia that wants to venture out and start something new.my only fear is that after this assignment i will not have anything to go back to once it is over. Would i be able to return to my fu ll time job, should i would i be able to take a leave or go prn. Im traveling with kids 7 and 9 the assignsment starts in july and up to october. The job will be from 8-5 in an ambulatory care center. They want to put me up in an extended stay. Housing stipend 350/ week and 37 hour every weekend off. Any advice. The kids want to leave and try another school. I thought about finding out if an extension would be possible until after christmas. Thinking about takeing housing stipend and finding an corporate 2 bedroom apartment. Would love some input. Especially ideas for child care. While they are out on summer break. What could i do for child care while im working since i will not get off until 5p.
  4. what is the first thing to read for med surg 2 and peds
  5. not true the army reserve allows u to have your asn. u work one weekend a month 2 weeks a year
  6. the book is over 2000 pgs we are using. so much info to remember. expect to start out in repiratory. u need ur book a month in advance
  7. This is my first semester of med/surg. and i was wondering how do u study for it. the information is so detailed. what is important to know. are nursing diagnosis, health promotions important. just trying to find out how to study early on
  8. what was second semester like. was it a hard semester for u after fundamentals. i know maternal newborn might be ok but med surg one i am clueless
  9. Our school forced us to buy it and it was 778 added on to the tuition. I like the concept sometimes i dont get a chance to read it
  10. Not sure if you are taking psych yet. but this is what we came up with in study group atypical antipsychotics come-clozaril race-risperdal zack-zyprexa g-Geodon a-abilify s-seroquel mood stabilizers dont touch the light tuesday night depakote tegretol trileptal lamictal topomax neurontin SSRI antidepressants please zoom past Chris last prozac zoloft paxil celexa lexapro Benzodiazepines Kathy had a Very dangerous xray Klonopin halcion ativan dalmane xanax
  11. thanks so much. that really helped our instructors told us in fundamen to read about trachs iv, venipuncture. so it must be respiratory thanks and good luck on that degree
  12. what should i read over SBT for med surg 1 2nd semester in program
  13. i started macon state fundamentals and pysche this is my first semester my GPA was only a 2.7 and tease was 75. i still need to take eng 2 and 1 more pe. i suggest that you all read the chapters in orientation and for fundamentals study only your objectives. not the ones the book has the ones that the instructors specifically choices. I suggest you buy an n clex book and remeber your test are 50 question in fundamentals and psych. and the fundamentals final is 100 questions. review every test you have they tend to bring question back to the final. i dont suggest you but the drug calc book. They teach drug cal to you in the lab. practice vitals and drug cal you need a 90 on drug calc to past. and remember study with people who are doing well not the ones who are flucnking birds of a feather flock together. The program is not hard as everyone says i tell you. i am doing better in the program than i did in core. to me a and p was harder than the program. finals tomorrow cant wait for it to be over. and CONGRADs TO THE SPRING STUDENTS
  14. so did u graduate from macon state.....if so or if u are in the program now tell me anything u can remeber so that i can pass it on to other huggs and thanks
  15. i started classes last week and i dont think it is hard it is a lot of reading but i dont see why people say it is extremely hard
