Advise-bulgaria&romania-psychiatric nurse-career path
Hi , Your situation seems easy to resolve…once you establish yourself in Bulgaria you apply to one of their accredited nursing schools. As far as I know there are college (3years) or university (4years) level schools and then once you have your nursing license you find a job in a psychiatric unit. Good luck.

Advice on overseas internship/volunteer placements
hi aaomalley, I am a Tirgu-Mures native, immigrated to US 8 years ago, and have been working in Los Angeles as a OR RN for the past 1 year. Though tiny in comparison to LA the city is safe, clean and beautiful, most everyone knows some english so language would not be a huge problem. If you go to Romania you also must visit Cluj Napoca, another beautiful town. If you don't mind sharing I would like to ask about the volunteering opportunity you found in my home town, since i would love to volunteer myself. Thank you.

2 job offers, 2 completely different fields ?! what to do ?
Thank you LoveMyBugs, my thought process was about the same, feel like there are more skills involved with OR nursing and could open the doors to different departments along the way. However i'm thinking that Medical Aesthetic Nursing could be good business, maybe opening an office in Europe ... I don't know ...

2 job offers, 2 completely different fields ?! what to do ?
Responding to evolvingrn: During my clinical rotations in Nursing School I found myself fond of the ER, however wasn’t able to land a job in that area. At the end of the day I think that during school one only gets a glimpse of what certain nursing specialties entail, so I am trying to guide myself by my ultimate goal of moving back to Europe and on top of that trying to work with the risen opportunities (OR vs. Medical Aesthetics). In Europe I might not qualify to work in a hospital setting, that is why I am hoping for a contractor opportunity at American companies working overseas?!

2 job offers, 2 completely different fields ?! what to do ?
Looking for some advice about the following situation: I graduated December 2010 from a reputable Nursing program in Callifornia with an ADN. It took me all these months but I finally got my break in job hunting and I was recently offered not 1 but 2 jobs. Being so new to this field I have no idea what to do, it seems that I am at crossroads and facing a decision that will shape my nursing career. One job offer is in the Medical Aesthetic field as a Laser RN, the other at a Community Hospital in the Surgical department as an OR RN. The pay would be the same and both places are willing to train me. In the long run I would like to relocate to Europe ! Maybe work as an independent professional or become a contractor . Would love some feedback on which career path would allow me the most flexibility in relocating. Thank you.

New Grad-Hired for OR-Any advice?
Hi,recently I was offered a position as an OR nurse myself.Initially because i'm a new grad I was very excited to find a nursing job in this economy, however the closer I get to my first day at work I started second guessing surgical nursing. While in RN program my heart went out to ER nursing. I read that it is very helpful to go over the Alexander + Perioperative Standards Book. Also AORN offers an introductory class. Hope it helps.

New Grad RN CAN'T FIND WORK!! What should I do?
I have been applying to new grad jobs for quite some time (graduated in December 2010) and the only places that called me were Home Health Agencies... although willing to hire me they cancelled because I don't have the "1 year experience" I am still waiting for that initial phone call from an HR professional... I followed up, left messages, and still waiting. Nowadays, who you know in a hospital puts you way ahead of the crowd. "I'm not upset... I'm incandescent with rage"

New nurse moving to CA
I graduated in December 2010, and I agree with your statement 100%. My classmates who had connections in HR departments found a job the rest of us are still praying and actively searching. So frustrating

wanting to move to the UK
Thank you for replying :) Yes, when I say I am a Romanian national I mean i am a Romanian citizen. Are there any countries in Europe that would accept ADN degrees? or ALL have as a requirement BSN? and if they only accept BSN are there any countries that would offer continuing education to make up for what they consider the ADN is lacking?

US Nurses Wishing to Work Overseas
Hello Allnurses members out there ! My question refers to moving back to Europe: Uk or Ireland. I will actually be eligible for US citizenship next year, then I would have double citizenship, because originally I am a Romanian national. Would love to practice as an RN in Europe. I have recently graduated an ADN program and passed the NCLEX on first try , so now i am licensed as an RN in CA. Are there any opportunities for nurses that have less than 2 years experience and want to practice overseas? Any advice, would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you :)

wanting to move to the UK
Hello, I have the same interest, meaning I would love to move to Europe. Was thinking UK or Ireland. My story is as follows: I am a Romanian national have been living in the States as a resident for the past 7 years and have recently graduated Nursing School, got an RN license in CA. Would love to move to Europe since i don't have any family here and i am actually finding it hard to land a job as a New Grad. In my area (Los Angeles) unless you have inside connections at a hospital your resume goes into the trashcan. Any advice for me? Thank you

1st semester nursing student looking for a job to gain more experience
hello all :) i just started nursing school a few months ago and i am almost done with my 1st semester. since the aa program i am attending offers classes during the long semesters (spring and fall) only i have the summer break all for myself. so i was hoping to start working in the medical field at least part time, however i need some advice on how to break in. what opportunities are there for students like me? where should i start looking? was contemplating to take the cna exam, however i never took real cna classes ... was thinking 1st semester nursing students are learning the basics just as cna's do in their 6 week course, and more. but where would i go to take the exam? can i sit at the exam even though i don't have a cna diploma? is there any another way to start working in a hospital? i am really looking forward to gain more experience, become a more knowledgeable nursing student and a caring nurse in the future. thank you for your guidance!
