  1. Hi..... I have been an ortho/neuro RN for 31 years. I love ortho patients because generally they are not sick. They are usually healthy patients who come in for their elective surgeries, get well, and go home. I like to see patients get well and go home. We do get our share of the elderly who fall and fracture their hips, but most of the patients are stable.
  2. I worked in 4 different hospitals in Las Vegas last year, and ALL of them had a negative attitutude. I think this is because Nevada ranks lowest in the nation for nurse/ pt ratio, so there is a huge turn over in staff. Nurses were constantly resigning and going elsewhere. Morale was terrible. The whole city of Las Vegas was in flux, it's a party town, not condusive to a place where you'd call home or want to retire in.
