  1. That's good to know. I just signed the Baptist Scholars contract last Friday. I was a little nervous with all the negative comments that I've been hearing, but I'm just going to go in with an open-mind and do the best that I can.
  2. I got the Scholarship with Baptist! Any news from UM yet?
  3. I got the Baptist Scholarship!!!
  4. Ooh ooh, I am!! Lol. Hey, did you get all your documents in yet?
  5. MDCupcake and Lahbsb, I didn't see you guys. Well I came in a little after everyone was already seated. I was wearing a brownish-tan sleeveless skirt-suit with a black top underneath and my hair was in a bun. During the "question and answer" part, I was the one that asked when tuition would be due after registering for class. There were quite a bit of people there, huh?
  6. Hey!! I went to the nursing school today and the lady at the front desk was STILL sealing yellow envelopes!! That means more acceptance letters are going out!! So those that are still waiting, look out next week. Good luck!!
  7. Hey everyboday. I went to the Nursing School today and the lady at the front desk was STILL sealing yellow envelopes. That means more acceptance letters are going out!! Good luck to those that are still waiting. You'll get in!!
  8. I got my acceptance letter for Generic! I have a 3.7. For those that didn't get in, don't give up. This was my 4th time applying and I finally got in. Keep taking classes to raise that GPA.
  9. I got my acceptance letter to Generic full time!!
  10. Are you serious guys!! That's great! I haven't gotten home yet. Congrats guys!!
  11. Hey Jenn, you said you applied to a private school? Is it Barry? If it is, I know how expensive it is. I went there for undergrad. Tuition there is so crazy. My major was pre-PA but then I decided to do nursing. I was not going to go back there, I already owe so much in loans.
  12. No Crystal!! Don't do that!! Letters haven't been sent out yet. Just because you didn't get a letter doesn't mean you didn't get in. Not everyone who gets accepted get scholarships. So keep your fingers crossed. We are all in the same boat.
  13. Pomakyya, The scholarship letter was sent to those that applied to the generic program. The cut off GPA was most likely higher than a 3.8 for accelerated, if you got a non-acceptance letter. I also got a rejection letter for accelerated. I applied to both programs so I'm just waiting for a response from the generic program.
  14. Hey guys. So I went to MDC today to see if they would tell me anything about acceptance letters and the cut off GPA. I waited an hour to speak to an advisor. I finally got to one and asked if she knew the cut off for accelerated or generic. She said she couldn't disclose that to me. Then I showed her the scholarship letter that i got in the mail. She smiled at me, gave me a hi-five and said "you go girl!" So I'm assuming that it was good news, but she still wouldn't tell me if it meant I was in. Funny huh?
  15. Yep 4 times. The first time I only applied to accelerated with a 3.1 not knowing how competetive it was. Then I applied to both accelerated and generic with a 3.3...another rejection. For fall 2009 I applied with a 3.59 and didn't get in. Now I have a 3.7. I didn't get into accelerated so I'm hoping I still have a chance with generic. I've just been taking classes. I should have a 3.73 after this semester. It's stressing to get rejected so many times, but I had to push myself to keep going. So for all of those who didn't get in, don't give up. Keep pushing.
  16. Wow Navita! Someone actually told you what the cut off might be? Did the advisor sound sure? I wonder.
  17. No letters for full time generic yet. Maybe in a couple of days.
  18. Miamigirl, I got an actual letter in the mail for the scholarship yesterday. It came along with my rejection for accelerated. So I'm guessing the scholarship letter is for the generic program. I called today and a lady told me that acceptance letters for accelerated or generic should be out in the next two days. We'll see if she's right. You know how they are over there. They'll tell you anything to get you off the phone. This is my 4rd time applying. Can you believe it? Fall 08, Spring 09, Fall 09 and Spring 10. I went from a 3.1 to a 3.7. So trust me, I know how stressing it is.
  19. I didn't get into accelerated . Now I'm just waiting on generic.
  20. Hey everyone, I got my rejection letter for accelerated. I called and asked if they knew the cut off, but the lady told me that she didn't know. Then she told me that acceptance letters will be sent out in the next two days. It 's weird because I got my rejection letter and a scholarship letter in the mail on the same day. Now I'm just waiting for the generic letter. nj640, I would think that getting any scholarship is a great deal. I know that most hospitals require you to work for them, but just think about it, you are guaranteed a job and you can get experience. I think that's a great deal for a nurse coming straight out of nursing school. Just a thought.
  21. Okay guys. A few people have gotten letters. So selections were made. Jessica, so the scholarship email is a "go"? I was reading a few posts from Ymarti that if you're invited then you're safe. There are plenty of students that got the email. Did you apply for the scholars program? If so, how is it?
  22. Galapagos, I applied to both Generic and Accelerated. My GPA is a 3.7. Dont give up. Sometimes they're slow. The last cycle was crazy, they took so long!! I've read several posts from a couple of months back and even a few years back about the "golden scholarship email", there were some who got the email and then got their acceptance letters after. At the botton of the email it does say that "it is not notification of admisson to the program." I've appiled to the program before but I didnt' get an email, just a rejection letter.I also went to the Nursing school this morning to find out when letters are going out. The lady at the front desk called someone and that person said either tomorrow or Monday. We'll see guys, you know how they are.
  23. I am excited! Do you know anyone else who got the email?
  24. Everyone!! Check your MDC email accounts!! They're sending scholarship invitations for the Nursing Program. I just got one!! I was also told that they will be sending letters in the middle of this month!! Good luck everyone!!
