Most of the data in the literature support a very close correlation between the NCLEX and the HESi. The data show a 99% correllation between getting over. 900 on the HESI and passing the NCLEX on the first try. Too much emphasis is being placed on this step. All the students who worked hard. Took personal responsibility for their success and studied for the exam passed. Even so the school sent a letter out today reducing the passing grade to 850 which provides a 95% correlation. I recommend this school to any serious student.

This program is difficult. However it is not as bad as those who were less than successful have you think. There are those who were very successful, got jobs and are happy with their results. The clinical sites praise the students from this school as being some of the best they have seen. Do your own research and remember no one vets these comments good or bad. Many of the things I have read are not entirely accurate or have not told the whole story. Administratively the school is working out it's kinks as having been open only for 2 years. Patience and maturity are important to being successful in this program from my chair. This is but one opinion and should only considered as one data point in your research.

Thought I would throw in my opinion and some more facts on this one. Here is some more data that may help you. first of all things on Ripoff.com and other similar sites are not vetted by the web masters...so we really dont know the story. Having said that, the programs that people are complaining about ARE NOT DEGREE programs but certificate programs that require nothing more than a GED with a D average to enter. Remington College is a business that has many programs each operating under its own particular set of credentials depending on the program. I did a great deal of research into this company and even met with the President before applying. What is important for us is that to even start a registered nursing program, you need state approval and provisional accreditation to have the first classes sit for the NCLEX. Remington was approved on both of these fronts. We all know that this program requires at least a BS from an accredited institution with a decent GPA and good recommendations. I would personally not base a decision based on what I read on the sites you forwarded, though it is certainly one data point and interesting to read. Most organizations that provide certificate programs get at least some similar marks from their customers. Hope this helps. Feel free to call me to discuss, I am always ready to help.

Hey NATO, You will probably end up with a better one anyhow. I have a really good one, but will likely not use one in class...I learn better by writing things down. I am sure there are some good study programs that we will learn about. The phone call was really weird...saying there were two versions of the enrollement document ...an old one and a new one and I was one of the few that got the old one by mistake...could be. I know they were trying to get a minimum of 20 people in the class but could take as many as thirty before they split into two classes...which is their ultimate goal...to start 60 people each term. Where do you live etc? Thx, D

Hey guys, Was talking to Kathi Rinker today about the enrollment contract and mentioned that it was cool that they are providing laptops. She indicated that the enrollment contract might be in error regarding the wording of that clause (she seemed shocked) and was going to get with their legal dept. Just FYI... Dave

Second career choice - making the right move?
Hi, Couple of thoughts, first I am about to embark on mysecond career with 20 years in the IT industry. I was lucky enough to have had a BS and MS in the biological sciences so I can do one of the accelerated BSN programs. I wish you luck on the education. In terms of your relationship issues. Those issues would have cropped up regardless of career choice. I have been in dire straights before while have not really done anything illegal, I know that desperate people do desperate things and when character is tested, it sometimes shows the crack in the armor. the ony way you are going to absolutely get past this is to discuss it with your fiance and get to a place of peace on the circumstances and her current strength of her character. Try not to judge but to listen and forgive. All the best, Floridave
