  1. i found out today that i was accepted into galens school of nursing for the november class. however, after sitting down and going through finances, i realized i can't just stop working my full time job to go to class each day. i guess school is monday thru friday from 8-5 and it's an hour from my house. i was planning on working on the weekends, but unless i do doubles....then i won't have my income. and we need my full time income. i am heartbroken!

well i just had my rn interview at galen this morning. my advisor said she meets before the committee this friday to see who is accepted or not. i am hopeful i said the right things in my interview. i was honest and up front.....so i am keeping my fingers crossed! after doing all the research on my different options, i chose galen for the fact that their reputation around the tampa bay area is awesome. i will keep you all posted!!

The tour was good. But they have a new building opening up this fall and it looks fabulous from the pictures I have seen. They will have a new simulation thingy--which sounds really cool. So from my first impression, I really like the school. and the staff too.

Well I passed the test. None of the studying I did helped at all. That test was hard!!! I walked out of there feeling the way I did when I walked out of taking my LPN boards!! So far, they still have seats for November....wish me luck...if anyone else is going to Galen...please contact me

Well I have decided to go and check out the campus. Don't know what will become of it. I am also taking my PAX RN test today. If it's meant to be, it will be. Is there anyone currently taking the RN bridge class there? How do you like it? I have most my prereqs already done. I am missing A & P II and micro. The rest are finished. Well wish me luck. I will let you know how it goes when I get back this afternoon!
  6. Where did you find her notes at???
  7. Ok everyone. After months of hee hawing back and forth.....should I or shouldn't I.....I have decided to give Excelsior my full attention. I will be sending my application out tomorrow morning. A few questions......how long after sending out your application....were you able to start taking classes?? I have all but 3 of my prereqs done for the RN bridge over program here in Florida. I just can't find time to take the actual college classes and work full time. Do you all have study groups or anything that you use to help you study through the material? Did anyone set up a timeline and follow it to stay on track? Thanks for all your help in advance. Patty
  8. Hi Maryvette, I got my LPN through PHCC West Campus and I only have 3 prereqs left for the RN Bridge program. I love doing my classes through PHCC. The instructors are WONDERFUL I can't say enough good things about them. They are truely there to see you succeed in your nursing career. I don't think anytime is too late to do what your heart is telling you to do! If you need any support....feel free to email me. I live in the Hudson area!! Good luck with your nursing school journey. :)
  9. well i think that will depend on what state you are in. i live in florida and i got hired on as a gpn at my local hospital. i was able do everything under another nurses supervision. so good luck!! working in the hospital really helped me get prepared for boards. especially knowing the meds.
  10. I have been tossing around the idea of going through Excelsior or not. I only have about 4 prereqs for the RN bridge program, and I can't decide to sit and wait or start the distant learning. I am scared to death of the weekend clinicals. I have a sit down nursing job (workers comp) so I dont' get to use my nursing skills.
  11. Has anyone taken the A & P I and II online there??
  12. i am an lpn- working for workers comp at the moment since i have had two ankle surgeries in two years. i am still taking my prereqs for the rn program. i take it one day at a time -with gods guidance, i will get there!!! :heartbeat
