Ever had a family overdramatic with dying patient?
You are a feeling, thinking human being first, and a nurse second. No one of us knows when one is gong to influence the other. When you stop feeling over things that happen at work, its time to leave and get a job at Walmart. God Bless and keep up the good nursing care.

Quickest Way for Getting Things Done and Licensed in US
I can see why people are always thanking you. !! You are so quick to reply with all of this wonderful advice and im in need of lots of it.. i do so appreciate it very much. I have a lot to accomplish because i have a partner who needs me to be with him. He has cancer and we dont know how much time he has on this earth. I dont know of any other way i can get to stay in the US for more than a few months so im going to take the time to get a job and hope we have some time left together. I know th job process isnt easy either, but i will give it a try. Do you think i could accomplish everything but the nclex and then do the nclex when i arrive? i have the hospital where my partner has been a patient, willing to offer me a job when i can work I just hope they mean it. Thankyou so much Trish

Quickest Way for Getting Things Done and Licensed in US
hi there, Your website reference does not seem to be available for NY applications on http://www.op.nyed.gov. Can you help me out? Thankyou Trish I just added to the link above. Same thing that NY BON did. I wrote this several months ago. The information is still there. Since you are a foreign-trained nurse, you only need to complete Part I of the NY application. The rest is done with the CGFNS applications. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Help! what is the first step to working in SC?
Hi , My Partner lives in West Columbia and i live in New Zealand. We are planning for me to move there, but i need to have sponsorship from and employer, to allow me to stay as Immigration law only allows for three months. How do i go about this? has anyone any ideas where i need to apply to sit my Nclex and Nursing board requirements.? I am an RN with BN Qualifications and work in General Medicine. My partner is ill and has Cancer, he cannot travel right now or i would be bringing him here because that would be easier. The US immigration laws suck big time..All i want to do is look after my partner and help out your nursing shortage. Here's Hoping Trish

working in the US
Hi Anyone help me? If you are an international nurse working in the US could you explain the process for application and the best way to go about this? I am an RN from New Zealnd. I have thought of using an agency , but I wish to return to a specific area , North Carolina, as thats where my husband is from, and he has a house there. Any suggestions? I do not really ant to go for residency in the US, but if that makes it easier i guess i will..

Ativan usage?
Hi There, Good luck with your recovery..I am a Kiwi RN and unfamiliar with your treatments for oncology nausea. is Ondansatron used in the US ? We use ondansatron, domperidone , and Halaperidil (Haldo) i presume. Ativan makes sense too i guess . What are the legal ramafications of Marijuana use? And what is xanax? Do i sound backward? Sorry im interested right now in your onco nursing system. I have a friend in SC who is going through treatments for Adenocarcinoma of his tongue. He is a singer so hes very certain he doesnt want any radical surgery. He has had RT and is on the chemo trail right now, having three a week. His nausea is very bad and hes dry retching all the time. Its hard for me to work out a lot of what is going onfrom him but hes always had nausea and nothing seems to help. They have started him on sleeping meds and antidepressants now to get him into a position where he can sleep for a bit...anyway im interested in any information. Cheers from down under, Trish

Question about Enrolled nurses v Registered Nurse
Hi Jen, Iwas an enrolled nurse in New Zealand and have recently completed a three year bachelors course to RN. Enrolled nurses in New Zealand have very little resposibilty now and must work under the supervision of a registered nurse. As i understand it they have less responsibility than an LPN , but are our second level nurse. We have had recent Government legislation that further reduces their scope of practice and this is very contraversial in NZ right now with nursing shortag :) es etc. My Husbands daugher is an LPN in Kansas city Mo so i understand a little bit of the role of LPN.
