Who has an ASN to Nurse Practioner program?
you prob. have to go BSN to NP

Northwest Florida State (OWCC)
A&P I is difficult by itself. I have an "A" in it, but I've worked my butt off. One lady in my class is taking both A&Ps at once. She says it makes A&P II easier b/c it coincides (sp?) with I...is that true? That sounds like Ms. Thigpen...she teaches nights 4 - 7ish...

I'm taking A&P I with Thigpen...I LOVE her! I didn't know you could take A&P I & II at the same time or else I would of done that!

Need some advice - LPN first, then RN?
I would def. rather go straight into RN. My long term goal is Nurse Practioner, but RN school right is very difficult to get right into. I've applied and I'm praying I get in b/c that is the route I prefer! Also, I've heard the a lot of hospitals aren't hiring LPNs anymore...I'm wondering why?

Thank You Lord !
PRAISE THE LORD! I think it's awesome! I'm not in nursing school yet. I'm taking the prereqs now, but only God has given me the strength to get this far and if I make the cut for nursing school I will give Him all the glory! Yay for you! I don't know you but by golly I'm darn tootin' proud of you!

Tabe Test Help!!!
I'm taking this test tomorrow for the LPN program...I'm really nervous.

Need some advice - LPN first, then RN?
I'm in the EXACT same boat as you! I've applied to two LPN schools and two RN schools. RN is my first choice of course, but if I have to do LPN then RN, then that's what I have to do! My thinking...it's easier to get into RN school once you have your LPN b/c RN school is very very competitive now days.

anatomy questions
Not sure if you're still checking this thread, but you might want to get a book that you can read before you start class...I suggest Cliff notes or Complete Idiot's Guide to A&P...it will give you some insight and help you stay ahead of the game. I think you're doing great! Most people would wait until class started to worry about it. You're getting a head start and that's great! Good Luck!

Montgomery rn programs
i looked at the troy program, but they require pre-cal as a prereq, so that pretty much messed me up...

OK, I'm totally wrong...it is 300...there was a typo in the email sent to me...I feel better now! Either way, if you have 100 points you should be good! Good Luck! Who is your A&P teacher?

Feeling Down... About Failing
I know how hard it can be...please don't give up on your dream b/c you're struggling! you've got to keep on trucking! I promise that one day it will just click for you! I have been where you are and now I have an "A" in A&P. Have you tried getting extra books to help you? I bought A&P the Easy Way, Barron's flashcards & Complete Idiot's Guide to A&P. I also go to you tube and look up animation videos that students have made to help me understand the processes....

I know! I was floored when the counselor told me 3,000...how many points do you have toward the program?

I applied there, too. It's pretty difficult to get in b/c over 3,000 people apply each year and only 40 get in. It is a great program though.

anatomy questions
we not only have to learn ALL 206 bones, but we have to know all the markings and processing of each bone. I use this sight to help me study. It's all memorization really. http://www.gwc.maricopa.edu/class/bio201/skeleton.htm
