  1. I'm in ADN days....but actually I have A&P1 at 5:30-9:50 on mondays with lab...and lec on thurs from 5:30-6:50.. Nurs110 lec M-R 1:30-2:50, and NURS 110C Weds 7-1:30 Not too bad of a schedule. I'm 43 years old, so I decided to just get the 2 year at this point...I'll figure the rest out later.
  2. Hi Waiting: Today our clinical ran over and we didn't even have time to start doing vital....and check off is in 2 weeks...so we will have a week to practive, get peer evals, and test out of it.....Blah! I took all my pre-reqs at Schoolcraft. Just noticed you mentioned Wayne State. I'm staying down here with family M-R, and drive up after A&P Thursday nights.....Gonna be a LONG school year, but hopefully it will be worth it! Good Luck! And yes, I cried half of last week! Haven't done it yet this week, but it's only Wed..lol
  3. You can use a calculator, but it's one they give you...very average. We haven't had a big exam as of yet, but so far you really have to keep up on all the reading, math and medical terminology yourself...they tell you what you'll need to have in a 30 page syllabus.....We all feel like we're drowning at this point, but I guess that's normal. It has an amazing reputation though, and looks great on a resume...!
  4. So far they have been multiple choice, but I'm not holding my breath..I think it depends on the course and the instructor.
  5. Honestly, I had my first nursing class (clinicals on Wed), and A&P1......I'm so completely lost I want to throw up!:barf02:
  6. For anyone already in the program for days. I'm starting in the fall, and I'm wondering how many days I will be there per week. I already have all my ENG, NUT, and 1 PSY class. I know I will need to take AP1 first semester. Should I plan on being there 3 days? I have no idea what the schedule is like. Since I already have some of my other classes completed, can I take some others first semester? I dont' want to burn myself out if I don't need to!
  7. I sent an email and heard back from her a few days later. I will be meeting with someone the second week of May. I've made a Dr's appt. to get all of my vac's done and for my doc to sign off on everything for this month. I'm not really sure when we need to have all of that in. Guess proactive never hurts...:)
  8. I know it's still early but I'm trying to get a grasp on what my schedule will be like. I have taken most of my pre-reqs but still need AP 1&2. Could any of you that are already going tell me how many days a week you attend? Do you spend extra time there studying? I really have no idea at this point, and it's driving me crazy. I know the 5 semesters they show on the Mercy website are usualy about 15 credit hours give or take. Is that the exact class pattern you take or can it differ? Any info would be great, and once again, thanks to all of you who already attend. You guys have been really helpful over the past year...
  9. Send it in. The worse thing that can happen is they are already full. If so, you aren't any worse off than you were beforehand. And, you can always just keep chipping away at classes if you have any more to take. I'd do it.
  10. Where are you in Michigan? I'm still living in Livonia, and chipping away at some classes at Schoolcraft before starting in the Fall. It's cheaper up here, and I still have a bit of financial aid left until July. Taking advantage of being unemployed and getting as much done as I can before it all runs out.
  11. I think I had a 3.29 GPA. I sent my transcripts in right before Christmas and got accepted at the beginning of the year for this Fall. I would send it in. I have heard there is now a wait list for the fall, but you never know.
  12. I'm starting in the Fall, and I live in Livonia, MI. I'm a bit nervous about the drive, but fortunately I grew up in Maumee, and still have family that live there. I can always stay with them if the weather is bad, or if I'm just exhausted. I figure I will just keep a travel bad in my car at all times! And once you get to know people you might end up with some very good friends that would let you stay the night. I've done that up here with a few people that were far from Schoolcraft when the weather was bad. They bought the pizza and we it made study time not so bad.
  13. Hi StarMickey: Maumee is a nice place (that's where I grew up)...the school systems are really good and if you can rent a flat (they call them duplexes) in the historic section, I don't think you'd go wrong. There are quite a few nice areas, and some not so much. Let me know if you have any questions about locations....It's a bit cheaper to live down there which is nice. Car insurance is a 3rd of what it is up here! Everything has it's pros and cons....
  14. I got accepted into the day ADN program. I live in Livonia currently. Not sure if I'm going to give up my condo and move down there or not. My family is there. This is a second career for me, as I'm 43 years old...! Where are you? Where did you take your pre-reqs? I've been taking them at Schoolcraft. I'm going to try and get Psy and Micro in this spring so I have less to take down there...
  15. I'm in Michigan. I will be attending the Toledo Campus.....
