  1. I don't believe it is a hippa violation to look at or read the blog; these are not hospital records and you are not sharing information. It may however be crossing a professional boundary, and that could cause all kinds of issues in your relationship with this family. I would say "thanks, but no thanks."
  2. I think nurses should look professional and that amounts to being showered, clean hair and clothing, and nails that are clean and trimmed. We should also be considerate of the people we work with, and that means brushing teeth and not wearing an overwhelming scent. Most of the rest is who ever you want to be. We are all unique individuals, and it is difficult to be so sometimes when there are so many rules and regulations in a hospital concerning appearance. Some mornings I feel like part of a nurse army walking into work in my blue scrubs with my fellow RNs. Some of us are just ,way too judgmental of others.
