  1. I'm not sure where you are located, maybe that is common there. I have never heard of a deliberate "slow code" as to not put effort or putting on a show for others when doing cpr. When I have had code blue situations in my LTC, I've always done 100% of compressions, crash cart, you name it. I have worked in SNF/LTC for 9 years now, and no one I know who is a nurse would ever condone that, especially if the resident is a FULL CODE! That is so shocking to me.
  2. I have a Bachelors Degree, but not in nursing. I had a change in career later in life and entered a nursing program. I do notice sometimes that BSN nurses "act" as if they know more. But I am confident in my skills as a nurse, and I know I get the job done. At times, even the new grads BSN nurses still ask me for help, and still haven't got the hang of the floor after a year. Go figure. I think it's more about confidence then your degree
  3. I also had a 4.0 in another bachelor's degree. I changed careers and went into an ADN program because I didn't want to be in school for another 2 to 4 years. I have worked with a lot of really dumb BSN nurses and really dumb ADN nurses. So it doesn't matter if you have a 4.0, B & c grades, or even a higher degree. It depends on performance.
  4. i'm happy to hear that all of your are having the same experience as I not able to find a job. But I am sad to hear that although this career is in demand, some hospitals don't want to hire new grads. It makes me feel like they don't remember how it was to be a new grad nurse. If anyone has any info on job openings in San Diego, I would appreciate it. I've been looking for a job since April, not as long as all of you, but looking just the same. Thanks everyone and good luck!
