  1. please think twice before moving here again. the truth is that you will be looking at an extreme pay cut. new rn's here don't make nearly what you are making now and from the looks of it things don't look to bright in the pay department. rn start at 21.00 to under 23.00 per hr. o and there are no unions. this is a non union state which means employers can do as they see fit.
  2. O and did I mention that Grady offers very poor medical benefits. They want you to go to Grady for certain exams in order to have 100% fill coverage, and they tell you out wright that they can't guarantee you patient confidentiality. Dental is expensive and vision, what vision? Most nurses go to the pool and find work else were as soon as possible. Last little detail no OT in 95% of the departments.
  3. I agree don't sign any contracts and get ready to make about 1350.00 to 1450.00 per pay check. That's if you work nights.
  4. if you live in atlanta and know were the hospital are located get dresses for an interview and hit the pavement. go to the hr departments and ask to speak with the nursing recruiters. take with you copies of your resume and attempt to leave one in the hands of a rn recruiter. believe it or not you may find an unexpected interview or two. try atlanta medical and grady. best of luck:yeah:!!!!
  5. hi tee tee congrats on your job with grady . i too would love to work for them because i will be coming from a big county hospital like grady. i wanted to know if you would like to contact me because i really need serious help. i bought a house in the metro atlanta area 3 years ago and i have tried everything to look for work in different places in the atl. about two years ago i had a small glitch in my plans and got accepted to nursing school out of state, i took the opportunity and ran with it. so you see i think that i understand you the most when it comes to frustrations. for god sakes i’ve been at this for 3 years and counting. this is an invite to you for help. a fellow new nurse who needs desperately away to find a job, and to finally find a way home. thank you and may god bless you.

  9. Thank you for the tips. I will definitely adopt them, and make them part of my strategy.

Hi I took kaplan and the instructors said that u could pass at 265 just as easly as someone that only got 75 questions. What have you heard about test format and passing?
  17. :bluecry1:I took my test and it shut off at about the 100th question. I don't know if I passed or not. 90% of my exam was priority a few all that apply, what pt would I have a conference disscution over, and meds. Then strangly enough the very last questions didn't seem like the others as if the computer decided to change the type of questions I was getting the majority of the time. Finally the last question had to do with who would I see first in a mass casualty event. It just feel like my test was all over the place.
