  1. Thank you so much!!! I ended up becoming a bit of a fluids & electrolytes case study myself after coming down with the flu and vomiting all weekend. "A 33 year old female presents with a history of vomiting for two days, minimal intake, muscle aches...." :icon_roll I will look these over between sips of water and gatorade and hopefully still get that midterm done by the end of they day. Thanks again!
  2. I'm suffering through a f&e take-home midterm and although I usually lurk (have gathered TONS of useful information thank you all so much!) I'm probably going to be asking tons of questions this weekend. F&E has become the bain of my existence. Any helpful websites? I ordered F&E made incredibly easy but it hasn't come yet (i think it got lost). We're using the Hogan Fluids, Electrolytes, & Acid-Base Balance text which is also helpful, although I don't think it gives as much analysis as my instructor would like. She really knows her 'lytes! Thanks in advance, Corrie
  3. I lurk here a lot but now that I'm finally in and will start school on Sept 26th I guess I should start posting :chuckle I'm a single mom to an almost 4 year old with a 50+ mile round trip commute every day for school-I can't move closer because my daughter's preschool/daycare for which i get a scholarship (meaning cheap for this poor student). So far this summer I've organized my house completely. I've picked everything up and made sure it has its "place." I went through toys and clothes and have several HUGE bags going to charity soon and I'm also making sure my daughter understands the importance of picking her toys up herself every night. I have ADD so if my place is cluttered I can't concentrate at all-not a problem during the summer but when school is going it makes me crazy. I've pounded my fall schedule into my ex's head so he knows he has to have her two nights a week when I have clinicals because I have to be there too early to drop her off at daycare in the mornings. I have my palm pilot primed and ready and am going to use it religiously-that's the only way I can function. As for food, it's a challenge for me to cook because it seems like by the time I get home and cook it's 7:30 before we're eating dinner. I guess I need to do the freeze dinners ahead of time. Anyway I'm rambling-thank you everyone for the wonderful organization tips!! corrie
  4. After five rejections last year (one because I failed to check a box on the application :angryfire), I finally figured my grades aren't good enough to get into one of the local BSN programs and only applied to PCC and CCC this year. I have my interview for CCC on Thursday-does anyone out there have any advice, hints, or tips? I don't know what I'll do if I don't get into a school this year-I've taken as many prereqs and support courses as I can and am just working while I'm waiting... Thanks in advance! Corrie
  5. I've been lurking while I muddle through my prereq's but have an interview for a Community College program on Thursday. I wanted to say thank you so much for posting this!!! While it may not be one of the "big" BSN programs in Portland, it's still nerve rattling to me-seeing this has helped calm my nerves a bit. Corrie
