  1. Hey everybody, I'm an LVN/LPN joining the US Army Reserves as a health care specialist (68w). Right after high school I went into the LVN/LPN program and now I'm joining the military. They started up my rank as E-1 and I was wondering if any of you guys who were in the same situation got a higher rank when you enlisted... I successfuly finished the future soldier training online and I was told I could get a promotion from that and I also referred someone in the Army and was told I could get a promotion for that also... However my rank is still E-1 and the person I referred got promoted to E-3 already and I find it a bit unfair that that happened because they really looked into her transcripts when she went to MEPS even though she didn't even finish school here, she was going to school in the philippines for less than 2 years for nursing but she wasn't able to finish. They didn't look much into my stuff like they did for her and I think that the LVN/LPN program was not a walk on the beach nor was the month that I studied my ass off for the NCLEX-PN. I think LVNs/LPNs deserve some credit for their school time but I was told otherwise that I can only start off as E-1. I am a little irritated at my situation because I think my recruiter didn't help me very much... He was almost done with the army when I was enlisting... I don't even have the M6 in my contract because they could not get it for me. They said that I can just get it during AIT but I'm beginning to think that I'm just gonna get ****** over this because they never guarantee anything. So please, PLEASE, if you know something different, feel free to tell me. If you know anything about the ways of promotion I was talking about, please tell me your experience.
  2. Hey I agree with the above comment, Saunders is a great help especially the cd of it. Answer as many questions as you can and understand the rationale. When I took my NCLEX-PN, I realized that the questions are just worded differently but were similar to the questions I reviewed from Saunders. I would also suggest reading the Kaplan book, it's a strategy in how to get to the right answer - VERY HELPFUL. I started thinking more logically after I've read that book.
  3. LOL To be honest I checked it everyday but it never changed, it gave me the same pop-up message. I've read a post from someone that they called the boards and they were told that they should be able to re-register as soon as they have taken the nclex. It makes sense that pearsonvue wouldn't let someone register if they have passed because according to the pamphlet that I got after the nclex, somewhere it says that the results go straight to pearsonvue and bvnpt. You can check everyday if you want just to maintain your sanity, but based from my experience, it never changed.
  4. Ya that's exactly the pop-up I got when I tried to re-register before I got my results. It's the good sign! :) I passed and I'm positive you did too, can't wait for the good news for you. Let us know how it worked out.
  5. Did you make sure you put the dash with your code? Ex. 00-000. Just make sure you enter the same name and school info hun and you should be able to try it.
  6. Did you make sure you entered the right school code? If you're not sure of what your school code is, just enter in the search bar the name of the city you're school is in and it will show you a list of school codes in that area.
  7. I was at the same position as you guys, trying the "trick" everyday but believe me, it worked for me. If it weren't for that trick I would've gone crazy. No need to cry, atleast we got the nclex done with, all you have to do now is wait... Hope to hear the good news from you guys soon!
  8. Hey congratulations! I am convinced this "trick" is for real. Thanks for introducing it here, it helped me out throughout the whole wait.
  9. My wait is finally over, I took it March 13 and I too were not able to go to the payment section when I tried the trick. GUYS, I PASSED! I'M SO HAPPY! THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT! THE TRICK WORKS!!! P.S. I got a big ass envelope!
  10. Funny how almost many of us go through some sort of trauma but trust me you will be fine. It's just an exam, more people who think they did bad actually passed and many who were too confident, well you can guess. So now you just wait... Hey, atleast you finally took it right? P.S. The trick gave me some relief, but it's up to you.
  11. Hey relax, TRUST ME, I've got atleast two ridiculously easy questions wrong too but now it doesn't bother me as much. You're supposed to try the trick after you test, supposedly if it doesn't let you go through the payment section, then it's a good sign.
  12. Yeah I did, it wouldn't let me go through payment. I took my test March 13. I should be posting my result asap.
  13. Hey congratulations! :) Good luck! I'm still waiting for mine, hopefully I will have the same note, lol.
  14. Dear everyone, I took my test on March 12, 2009 and guess what, STILL NO RESULTS!!! I'm so irritated of how slow they are and I don't care anymore if some of you think I'm impatient. My friend called the boards and they said they are working on March 10. That's ridiculous! I thought I saw someone else post on thursday that they were working on March 10. Anyway I guess I'm just ranting on. Wish me luck that this wait is worth it.
