Just call around to some long term care facilities in your area, (nursing homes) and ask if any of them offer a class, or if they know of anyone who does... sometimes they are even free. And you will get some experience along the way, which will help...

I think either way,,,LPN OR CNA....you are going to have to deal with some or the messy aspects of the job, whatever route you take..you are gonna run into it....I think that you will get alot from taking a CNA class and you may find out thay you are...
