  1. At my facility anyone can chart if you give them express permission. They type in my login name(they have no access to my password) and chart that I gave the medication, treatment, etc. and that they charted this occurence. This allows for the occurence to be charted without interruption of the patients' care.
  2. email me at [email protected] and I will tell you anything you need to know (that I know at least0 Shari
  3. Mcsprint, I would tell you for the first semester challenge to just brush up on what you already know. The first test is basic and you already know in your head what must be done, it is mostly geriatric care, they also may include some oncology but again it is basic care. For the second semester test know your pediatrics, maternity and basic sexuality courses also know some your orthopedic content for both tests. Any other questions contact me at [email protected] Ladii, if you would like to chat with me about Brookdale contact me at [email protected]
  4. The only reason I was asking is that you can take all the prereq's at Brookdale Community College, go to the nursing program there and then transfer to Rutgers through the communiversity. It is sooooooo much cheaper that way.
  5. The NET is a useless tool it is quite frankly an idiot test and a psychological test. When you are challenging the test the prereq's are also useless you don't need them. Just be sure to call just previous to the start of term in September when the normal challenge time would be (see if you can find out the exact date for either the summer or fall challenge) when the date comes sit outside the testing center and see if someone doesn't show up. If they don't request to go in their place. (I know two people that did this and it worked). It doesn't happen often but it is worth a shot. Persistence is never a bad thing. I hope it works for you.
  6. Don't worry about it, the best nurses I know passed out during cauterization (it doesn't smell pretty lol) You were probably so intent on the procedure that you didn't notice your body was not. My first OR experience I ended up helping my fellow student off the floor and she is now an OR nurse. Just keep going everything will be fine. Shari:nurse:
  7. I have one question. Do you live in Monmouth County? If you do I have a great deal of input to give you.
  8. I see that you are an LPN, for an LPN there are no prerequisites at Brookdale, you can challenge the first two semesters and believe it or not you have priority over all of the current students that have to take the prereq's. Can you tell me what happened with your testing challenge, due tho the fact that I know that if you passed the challenge you start the term after you passed.
  9. I recently graduated form the BCC nursing program(Dec. 2008) and I can tell you that it is a hard as you make it. I mean you have to study, listen in class, attend all classes and ask questions when in doubt. The nursing educators are ALL very knowledgable, some are tougher than others, some are better at the teaching process than others, and some are so good at teaching that it is a pleasure to be in their class, but one thing that they all have in common is going out of their way to help you succeed. Every staff member including the Lab nurses are there to help you succeed all you need to do is ask. As far as learning alot, you learn more than you possible think you could in 2 years. As for the HESI there are 3 one is the Psych test, then there is the mid curricular HESI and than the exit HESI. The Psych HESI is not that hard if you listen and read, but you have to study, study, study for the mid curricular and the exit HESI. Let me know if you already started the program because if you didn't I can tell you more about what to do first.
  10. I recently graduated from BCC (Dec. 2008) and Kaylah18 is correct about getting the pre-requisites out of the way in addition make sure you get your psych 106 and Anatomy and Physiology 111 out of the way before attending orientation then you are placed higher on the waiting list.
  11. I recently graduated from BCC and would be glad to give you any information I can provide.
