Thanks to all of you!!! That's what I thought and I just wanted to clarify that before I passed it on to the nurses I work with in the office.

Hi Nurses and Student Nurses, I have a question for any of you out there. In nursing school are they still teaching how to give IM injections in dorsogluteal area? Those of you in the hospital/outpatient setting, are you giving injections in the dorsogluteal area? I know of a nursing school not teaching it anymore and the hospital I work at advises against it. Go to your manager. He/She may already be aware that something is wrong with this nurse. This actually happened to me and I reported it and they just "watched" that nurse, but couldn't do anything until they "caught her red-handed." She eventually left the hospital and is working elsewhere now. Stand up for yourself and your patients....also, help your coworker because obviously he is in some sort of trouble.

I know this may be "too little, too late" but would you be able to use money from a student loan to pay for admission medical testing? I'm not sure if that is possible or not. Just asking....

I guess my question to you is "Do you NEED to work or do you just WANT to work while you're going to school?" If it is the latter I would go right for your BSN. Trust me, as someone who got a diploma in nursing 17 years ago and just finished 4 years of online college to get my BSN, I wish I would have continued on right away after I graduated nursing school. Unfortunately, I NEEDED to work.
