IM Injections
Thanks to all of you!!! That's what I thought and I just wanted to clarify that before I passed it on to the nurses I work with in the office.

IM Injections
Hi Nurses and Student Nurses, I have a question for any of you out there. In nursing school are they still teaching how to give IM injections in dorsogluteal area? Those of you in the hospital/outpatient setting, are you giving injections in the dorsogluteal area? I know of a nursing school not teaching it anymore and the hospital I work at advises against it. Thanks in advance, Jen MSN, WHNP-BC, C-EFM, RNC-OB

Would you report possible diversion?
Go to your manager. He/She may already be aware that something is wrong with this nurse. This actually happened to me and I reported it and they just "watched" that nurse, but couldn't do anything until they "caught her red-handed." She eventually left the hospital and is working elsewhere now. Stand up for yourself and your patients....also, help your coworker because obviously he is in some sort of trouble.

Pre-Nursing school immunization catastrophe!
I know this may be "too little, too late" but would you be able to use money from a student loan to pay for admission medical testing? I'm not sure if that is possible or not. Just asking....

BS In Nursing vs. LPN to RN to BSN
I guess my question to you is "Do you NEED to work or do you just WANT to work while you're going to school?" If it is the latter I would go right for your BSN. Trust me, as someone who got a diploma in nursing 17 years ago and just finished 4 years of online college to get my BSN, I wish I would have continued on right away after I graduated nursing school. Unfortunately, I NEEDED to work.

Enough is Enough
I just wanted to respond to "Tait". I work in a Magnet hospital that recently achieved the title a year ago. I encounter the same issues that other writers have, such as patients and visitors being treated as "customers" and customers are always right. I work in Labor & Delivery mostly, so our patients are fairly healthy and these patients, especially want things handed to them and done for them moreso than the sick patients. It's ridiculous what we, as nurses(or waitresses), have to go through or do during our shifts to make our patients feel "at home or as if they are staying in a hotel." I agree....this is a HOSPITAL!!! Have your baby, or get better, and go home. You don't need all the comforts of home to heal.

Wireless Cell Phones in Nursing
Hello, I am currently in an online RN to BSN program and my course this semester is Nursing Informatics. I have a project to do reguarding the use of wireless telephones (cell phones) in nursing for such things as direct patient to nurse communication, nurse to physician and vice versa communication, etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have searched several databases and cannot seem to find all the things I am looking for? I would appreciate any help!!! Thanks!!
