TCU Interview
If you get an acceptance letter from somewhere else you can call them and they will give you an answer before that time. I ended up choosing Wesleyan last year but when I told them I needed an answer they delayed a little but I did receive one before the Feb. 28th date.

Opinions on BIS Monitors?
Ya'll are crackin' me up! We have used the BIS monitors for quite some time and the company has come and had several educational programs for us. However, for most patients, the BIS monitor simply does not work, IMO. Some patients are extremely accurate while others are way off, therefore their reliability is worthless. The company says you must weigh the pain and agitation separately into the "number". Interesting and true as these are different factors. Just needs more accuracy. Just my 2 cents.

Pregnant
When I interviewed down at Baylor, one of their students had just had a baby and did not miss a beat. She had a great support system behind her and the faculty supported her 100%. So I know you can do it. Be the little engine that could!! Hee hee!! :rotfl: Best of Luck and CONGRATS!

ER not considered Critical Care?
I too am in awe of ER nurses for putting up with the BS while waiting for the good thing to roll through. I work a Trauma Intensive Care Unit in a Level I hospital and we crack chests, open bellies, and all the juicy stuff more often than I can count. The difference between the ICUs and the ER in our facility is the understanding and manipulation of HD parameters (not to mention other things CRNA schools look for in skills). We simply have more experience with it, which I think is what CRNA schools look for. I do think ER is critical care and I fought for our ER nurses to be paid the same as the ICU nurses in our hospital, so don't think I am discrediting the critical care provided, it is just a different variety of skills. Anyway, just my thoughts.

I am right with you. If you want, we can alternate apts! I am not sure where you are living but mine is on Bryant Irvin. Anyway, I have the whole drive situation too, so I bought a digital voice recorder to make CDs, and I plan on taking my treadmill with me. I bought the the notecards that go with our anatomy book (don't know if they will help) but I thought surely they would be easier to use on my treadmill than a book. Anyway, some of my other buds from Tyler are moving up there too for the program so we would be more than happy to be in a study group. Anyone else have words of advice?

Laptops and PDAs
The Sony Clie has a built in recorder I think. I have a palm. I love my laptop. It is a little big but easily portable. It is a Toshiba Satellite with a centrino processor. Mega fast with all the built in wireless features for wireless web surfing (one of the best laptops for wireless features). I even made may house wireless. Super cool. It is not as compact or light as a Sony Viao (spelling?) but packs up in a jiff.

TCU vs. TWU can anyone tell me differences and similarities? PLEASE?
TWU: -Larger class size -slightly cheaper TCU: -smaller class size -more expensive That's really all it boils down to. But you can pm me if you want. I was accepted to both and chose TWU because it was a better fit for me. Good Luck!

Why the high pay in Texas?
5 of the top ten fattest cities in the US were in Texas. Houston ranking number 1 I believe. So if being a CRNA does not work out for ya....there's a big need for personal trainers!!!! :rotfl:

Why the high pay in Texas?
Texas is not all dry & brown though. East Texas is fairly "hilly" with lots of beautiful green trees and lush landscapes. Not to mention, it houses the rose capital of the world!
