What do you call this kind of job?
through my agency. i have spent my first year as an lvn in home heath, private duty nursing, and my last pt, i went from home, to school with pt, then back home. What do you call this kind of job? What title goes along with lvn and privat duty? I liked going to special ed school with my pt, though I pulled a ligament in my shoulder from loading and unloading my car 4x a day. Now I want to look for a job that i can do the same thing, but i dont know what title it is called and where to look? thanks everyone!

New LPN having a hard time finding work!!!
Im in los angeles and got my license in March. Everywhere i wanted to work wont hire me because i am a new grad. Now i am desperate and have to take the only two agencies that hire new grads for home health. One agency will pay only $16 an hour - 1 patient for 8 hours. I though $17 was the minimum salary. I wanted $20 to $22! The other agency will give $25 per visit - going from house to house, but i dont know yet how many patients i will get from them - enough to have a 40week schedule? i doubt it. I go for an interview on Monday for the '1patient for 8 hour' weekend job. SO THIS IS MY START. I have to get experience this way! It just better be good enough 6 months to 1 year down the road, so i can get into a hospital setting! I HAVE TO GO FOR MY RN ... LVN doesnt give you many opportunities, now does it? I am 53. I give myself 5 years to achieve my BSN, ha ! i'll be 58 - since i have pre-reqs to complete first. I need the RNs salary - $40/HOUR! SO YEAH!! I FEEL I GOT COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF ! If I would have known this two years ago I would have jost gone for the RN! LVN Schools are everywhere! It is a BIG RACKET! California are spitting our LVN's by the hundreds - - - and then now one hires you? HOW MANY unemployed LVN's are in California? IT IS A BIG SCAM! OH YEAH, 'THERE IS A NURSING SHORTAGE - WE NEED NURSES.' THEY MEAN RN's - NOT LVN's.

Southern California Thread
i found a direct email address with name of the individual of the unit that is hiring. i emailed him today with a cover letter stating that 'tho i am a new grad, my clinic experience of 816 hours has given me the foundation and ability to be a competent nurse in his unit.' i attached my res. i just pray it goes directly to him and bypassess human resources! hopefully i'll have a chance to get the interview.

:cry:Does anyone know if Glendale Adventist GAMC will hire me as a nurse assistant if i am a LVN new grad? Will they let me then get a job as an LVN since i am already employed by them? upon application they give you a 40 nclex question test to pass before they allow you to interview. the questions are from a saunders nclex-pn published in the year 2000. they are 9 years old. ive taken the test 2x and have not passed yet. I am livid with anger and frustration to the point where i am considering applying for nurse assistant jobs, which will be for a much lower salary. i want to work there. i did alot of my clinical there and i live in glendale. home health is not where i want to be. thanks for any answers
