  1. Congratulations! You'll do great!
  2. I know this thread is for march -april grads but theres not one for may! I passed! today was my state test and it was a lil nerve racking but I passed!!! we all did great! Now I have to work LOL j/p I'm excited to work now that I actually passed the state test! Thanks all for your many kind words! :):loveya:
  3. Also, does anybody else dream about their residents. I keep having dreams of me working and being with the residents that I did my clinicals with. Is that strange?
  4. It actually did get better, or should I say the way I reacted to everything was in a different way. I had clincials again this weekend and it went by faster. I had a good CNA to shadow so that made all the difference. I felt so much for the residents still though. I just wanted to take them all home with me because I felt so bad. I found that the best thing for me was not to get lippy with the CNA's(which I didn't), and to just observe and know that I will try my best to provide better care when I get in the field. After giving it some careful thought, I"m leaning more towards working in the hospital after I get my certification. I don't feel that emotinally I could work in LTC..
  5. Thank you all so much ! Today wasn't as hard, but today was a day I didn't do much skills besides feeding, which I enjoyed. I got to know some more residents a lot better and did things to help them feel loved and cared for. I'm still feeling a little bit the same about everything that I did yesterday but things did come a little bit easier today. I cried again today but not boo hooing in the corner but one of the resident brought a tear to my eye, he told me he didn't want to be there, and I felt bad because he reminded me of someone that was once close to me. So after I talked to him I turned to the side to dry my eyes and keep my compusure and washed my hands and went back to talking to him. He was the one of the many sweetest "people I've ever met" in the facility as there were many sweet lovely individuals. I'm just getting used to everything, and I appreciate al of the good luck. I'm sooooo tired and drained, and I have to get back to my studies. huge test sorry if i'm starting to not make sense too!!! LOL yea school. Thanks everybody!
  6. Whoo! Today was my first day of clinicals as a CNA. I feel so drained and I came home so sad for the residents in the LTC Facility. I know what you learn in class and clinicals are completely different, because you have to get the job done, but I actually came home crying about just seeing individuals in the state that they were in. A lot reminded me of my older family members and it brought a tear to my eye. I'm glad I'm there to help out , but I know that nursing is not for me so far. I know I shouldn't base it on one day but this is how I feel. Did everyone else feel like that. ?? Also , I feel like I'm the only one who kept needing help running into issues with taking individuals to the restroom. WHy do I feel so out of place. everything else is coming to me but I feel so lost. :uhoh3:breath , sleep, and lets do it allover again tomorrow. :) :)
  7. Thanks!! I wouldn't want to give a peep show at all. LOL
  8. :yeah:Good luck and congrats! I'm sure you'll do fine !
  9. Don't have any advice but congratulations on becoming a CNA!
  10. boy shorts are VERY comfy. ANd not that thick and somewhat conceals the bootay. I will add this to my list of things to try. Thanks!
  11. Oh yea the under armour gear is good for absorbing sweat. I forget the technology Under Armour uses, but some companies make clothing with the same moisture wick technology or whatever its called. Under Armour can be a little costly but great point. I forget all about that stuff too. Another option. I'm getting a lot of ideas from everyone. ! Thanks!
  12. LOL what?? hmm well they're not considered lingerie.. LOL thats to funny. :)
  13. Yea , our class tried our scrubs on today for sizing and I never noticed they are like pajamas. The pants are drawstring. LOL I'm sounding so "green" right now. :)
  14. oh leggings. that would be a good thing to wear. I didn't even think of that. And they breath better than panty hose spanx probably too. I'll put that on my list! thanks! :)
  15. awww man. Hey at least I tried to find a way to be discreet. :) Thanks.
  16. oh my.. I will take that as "what not to wear ,while wearing scrubs" LOl thank you so much for the insight. :)
  17. I don't know about the stinking issue cuz I haven't worked as one yet... but maybe theres some fresh stuff we can buy to help out with that. And a very strong deodarant :) I already have to use Maxim to keep the sweat down. Maybe some easy breath spandex shorts to go under neath the scrubs too like one on here suggested. It is going to be difficult finding something white to wear underneath.. Let me know what you find too .. :)
  18. Yea the scrubs the program is issuing are white. So I was just making sure I don't show up with my undies showing through. thanks!
  19. LOL I figured as much but just wanted to make sure. I don't know if i would feel to comfortable in the all whites with nothing under my pants. I guess I'm just super paranoid like that. :) thanks for the reply.
  20. Is there a thread for CNA's graduating in May-June? Thanks guys/gals.
  21. Hi all, well I start CNA classes at the end of this month!! YEA! and I wanted to ask a question. Might sound silly but , Do you wear clothing under your scrubs? I see individuals wearing shirts but what do you wear under your pants.. Just wondering. I know stupid question but thought I'd ask.
  22. I'm not a nurse but aspire to be one, one day, but I hear from my friends that the oncology department is a good place to be. Lots to learn and stuff. Hope that helped. Wish I could give more insight but I'm not a nurse.. yet. :)
  23. I'm not familiar with nursing and when I start shadowing nurses, I will ask this question as well, but once you become a nurse can you pick a speciality to work in? Do you have to get certified in that speciality ? Say for instance if I wanted to be a nurse but in pediatrics or oncology. DO you have to get any extra certifications to work within that realm? Is it difficult to pick and choose your specialitys? Thanks for the help and information. I did shadow a radiographer for about a week. It was in a deployed (overseas) location so I saw ALOT of different things. No sonography though. I've shadowed my aunt as an LPN. She works in a nursing home though. She deals with a lot of grumpy patients but I understand why they are grumpy. Half of the time the families don't come to visit, so I understood, as much as she did. My aunt would just say to a grumpy patient "I know there's a smile under there somewhere, uh oh here it comes, don't try and hold it back" LOL eventually the patient will smile or try to hide that smile by saying "Get outta here" but not in a mean way. It used to make me feel happy to see my aunt have that kind of impact on someones life. :) I will re quest to shadow in different locations though. Thanks. :)
  24. Hi thanks for all the info. I do have a couple of questions. If you get a degree straight into nuclear medicine, will you learn to do the other duties as well, or just nuclear medicine? How long does it take to get PET/CT? Since nuclear medicine is a speciliaty is it hard to find a job in hospitals today within that speciality? Are the job opportunities the same as Rad tech? Thank you for the insight. You provided lots of good info.
